Travelers must present e-HAC at departure airport starting March 3
Domestic air travelers in Indonesia will be required to present a valid e-HAC (electronic Health Alert Card) at the departure airport instead of at the destination. The Ministry of Health confirmed updated rules for the travel requirement yesterday. Aside from being vaccinated and testing negative for COVID-19, travelers have been required to fill in their details and obtain an e-HAC using the government’s
health and mobility tracking app PeduliLindungi. Throughout the implementation of this requirement, travelers had to present the e-HAC upon arrival at the destination airport – until now.
be avoided at the departure airport as travelers check in at different times. At the same time, the update rule means travelers need to be more mindful with time due to the additional pre-departure requirement.
“In the latest regulations, travelers must fill in the e-HAC in the PeduliLindungi app before checking in at the departure airport, or, at the earliest, a day before the scheduled flight,” Setiaji, an expert staff at the ministry’s health technologies department, said in a press release yesterday.
The e-HAC, previously a stand-alone app, can be obtained from the PeduliLindungi app. Passengers are required to fill in their personal and flight details on e-HAC. They will be declared eligible for travel should they meet vaccination and testing requirements.
“The new rule is effective starting March 3, 2022.” Setiaji added that the update to the eHAC guidelines was made to prevent pile ups of travelers presenting their card to authorities at the destination airport. This problem should, on paper at least,
An e-HAC is required for all domestic and international flights. The Ministry of Health did not announce any updates to e-HAC guidelines for international arrivals, meaning passengers are still required to present the digital card upon arrival in Indonesia. (coconuts.co)

Travelers must present e-HAC at departure airport starting March 3 In further support of his argument, Koster said that 3,405,130 people in Bali had received the first dosage of the COVID-19 vaccine, 104% of the official target. Meanwhile, those receiving the second dose have met 94% of the targeted number. 20% of those targeted to receive the third booster shot is 20%. Among the elderly population of Bali, 86% have received the first injection, 75% the second shot, and 18% the recommended booster.
Bali Governor Wayan Koster is urging the government to advance by one week the date for the end of quarantine measures from 14 March 2022. Koster’s desire to end quarantine on 07 March was announced during a coordination meeting to prepare for the end of the quarantine held on Tuesday, 01 March 2022. The Governor justified advancing the date for the end of quarantine by the declining number of new COVID-19 cases and the corresponding substantial increase in those recovering rapidly from the virus.
Vaccination of children between 6 and 11 achieved 107% of the official target for the first dose and 98% for the second vaccination. As further evidence of Bali’s success in dealing with the coronavirus, Koster pointed to a declining positivity rate. The percentage of those testing “positive” for COVID-19 now averages 4.3% and numbers less than the World Health Organization’s (WHO) standard of 5%. Only 1 or 2 people from among international travelers arriving in Bali have tested positive for COVID-19. One of the strongest arguments for eliminating quarantine requirements is the widespread compliance with health

protocols across every segment of Bali’s population. In addition to urging the advancement of the date for ending quarantine to 07 March 2022, Governor Wayan Koster is adamant in his call for the resumption of the visa-on-arrival facility (VOA) to eliminate the complicated, timeconsuming. and expensive need to secure a B112A visitor visa. “It is time for point one and point two (ending quarantine and resuming VOA) to be implemented so that tourism can recover after suffering greatly for the past two years,” said Koster. The Governor also asked that Airline crews be exempted from taking a PCR test upon arrival in Bali because they had already tested negative before their flight to Bali. Bali’s Chief Executive also urged that the Port of Benoa be reopened for the arrival of yachts and cruise ships. Koster used the occasion of Tuesday’s coordinating meeting to announce an acceleration of booster vaccination administration via a program starting on 05 March 2022 so that 30% of the population have received the third shot. Making the Shift from Epidemic to Endemic received guidance from the President and the Coordinating Minister (Luhut Pandjaitan) on strategies to deal with an endemic. Moving forward, we have prepared the needed protocols.”
A decline in new COVID-19 cases, low rates of corona virus-related hospitalization, and reduced death rates are prompting the government to move forward with strategies to deal with the global disease as an endemic rather than a pandemic situation. As reported by Balipost.com, Indonesia’s Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, speaking via his Ministry’s Youtube Channel on Sunday, 27 February 2022, the government is shifting its stance from dealing with a pandemic to endemic disease. Sadikin added: “We have also
The Health Minister said President Joko Widodo has urged in planning for the future careful consideration and inclusion to be given to perspectives – including scientific knowledge, health considerations, sociological and cultural impacts, and the economic effects of COVID protocols. Alluding to how many nations are lifting COVID-19 restrictions, Gunadi said Indonesia, like other members of the international community, cannot rely solely on health and scientific considerations. The Indonesian President suggested that Indonesia strike a balance in dealing with COVID-19 to ensure a positive result for all parties.

The Indonesian Minister of Health pointed to lower trends in new cases and reduced occupancy rates for coronavirus patients at Indonesian hospitals, indicating that the virus is under control. Gunadi said that West Java, East Java, and South Kalimantan provinces would be monitored over the coming two weeks to see if the current trend of declining rates can be sustained. Gunadi said the average number of COVID-related deaths nationwide now averaged around 250 people, a number he says is much lower than that experienced when the Delta variant was at its peak when average deaths numbered approximately 2,000. This total is equivalent to an 85% decline in new cases. The government has administered 344 million first and second injections against COVID-19. (balidiscovery.com)

10 Ukrainian Protestors May Face Deportation The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights is warning Ukrainians who participated in peaceful demonstrations in Denpasar, Bali on Tuesday, 01 March 2022 may now face deportation. The head of the Bali office of the Justice Ministry, Jamaruli Manihuruk, told Beritabali.com that his office will deport the foreign nationals involved in those protesting the invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces.
Commissioner, I Made Uder, explained the dispersal of the crowd, saying: “We
Olga Chevaganiuk, identified by RadarBali.com as a spokesperson for the protestors, said that war must end and supports moves for peace. Adding: “We want this to stop because many Ukrainians and Russians have died,” she said. Continuing, she said that the Ukrainians living in Bali wish for their nations to live in peace and do whatever is within their powers to help Ukraine. They are donating whatever funds they can while gathering clothing and food donations to be sent to their country. Donations are being collected for both humans and animals, both suffering from the invasion.
Manihuruk said in a written statement: “Firm action will be taken including sanctions in accordance with Immigration Law Number 6 of 2011.” The law allows Immigration authorities to deport foreigners who break laws and disrupt public order.
Also joining the demonstration was a Russian national, Dima Kazantcev, who said that although he is a Russian citizen, he has no desire to witness war. Adding: “From my heart, I have no desire for this war. As for Putin, he maybe has his viewpoint, but I hate war.”
Meanwhile, CNN reports that one of the Ukrainians who participated in the protest has apologized for participating in the mass protest, saying the incident was triggered out of concern for their homeland. The 01 March gathering of reportedly “hundreds” of Ukrainians held initially at the Bajra Sandhi Monument was quickly broken up by police for lacking the required permit for mass gatherings. The group then shifted to the front of the Ukrainian Consulate. Immigration officials calculated that as of 25 February 2022 there were 464 Ukrainians and 2,542 Russians currently living in Bali. Of the 464 Ukrainians living in Bali 453 hold temporary stay permits (ITAS) and 11 permanent stay permits (ITAP). The 2,542 Russians in Bali are comprised of 2,495 with temporary stay permits (ITAS) and 47 with permanent stay permits (ITAP). The head of the operations division of the Denpasar Police Precinct,

Initially, the peaceful protestors intended to stage a gathering at Bajra Sandhi Monument (The Balinese Monument of the People’s Struggle) in Renon, Central Denpasar. Police quickly dispersed the crowd for conducting a mass gathering with the required permit and for failure to obey COVID-19 health protocols intended to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. The group then relocated to a position in front of the Honorary Ukrainian Consulate on Jalan Gurita No.18, Pegok, Sesetan, Denpasar Selatan. After meeting with Nyoman Astama, Ukraine’s Honorary Consul in Bali, the protestors sang the Ukrainian National Anthem before peacefully returning to their homes. (balidiscovery.com)
