Indonesia plans to triple the price of visa on arrival and Bali businesses are not for it 30-day stay that is extendable by another 30 days.

times,” said Partha Adnyana, or known as Gus Agung.

However, according to an official memo of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights obtained by Coconuts from a travel agency in Bali, there is an official plan to increase the VOA fee to IDR1.5 million (US$104.52).

Gus Agung claimed that since the reactivation of the VOA on March 7 (before that, VOA was not available due to the pandemic), Bali saw an increase in the number of international arrivals. In the past three days, he said, around 2,500 new tourists touched down in Bali daily.

Coconuts have reached out to several government officials but have yet to receive a concrete confirmation on the plan. We will update this article once we do. For around two years since the COVID-19 outbreak occurred, Bali’s tourism practically became dormant. Now that the island is starting to receive a flow of international visitors, several local outlets are reporting about plans to increase the fee for the visa on arrival (VOA) entry by threefold. Currently, one needs to pay IDR500,000 (US$34.84) to obtain a VOA. For now, there are 43 nationalities eligible for VOA in order to visit Bali, entitling them to a

Needless to say, Bali tourism businesses are not happy about the plan. In a panel discussion that took place in Nusa Dua earlier today, the chairman of the Indonesia’s Tourism Industry Collective (GIPI) Ida Bagus Agung Partha Adnyana expressed disappointment. “We and 10 stakeholders object to the plan to increase the VOA [fee] three

He later asked the state-owned holding company for tourism and aviation industries, Indonesian Journey or InJourne’s director Dony Oskaria, who also attended the discussion, for assistance. “I ask Mr. Dony to help address this in a formal forum,” said Gus Agung. In response to that, Dony said he would immediately respond to the situation. “We will try so that this [VOA price increase plan] is canceled,” he said. (coconuts.co)

documents for driver’s licenses and license plates.

Mitigation Agency (BPBD) head I Made Rentin said today.

The fire erupted at 12:04am at the Samsat, which is located on Cok Agung Tresna Street in Sumerta Kelod, Denpasar. Firefighters managed to put out the fire about one-and-a-half-hours later.

No casualties were reported from the fire. However, the Samsat’s office for commercial driver’s license applications reportedly burned down to the ground, as well as the center’s cafeteria.

“The fire engulfed nine rooms […] and the losses [are estimated at] IDR500 million (US$34,835),” Bali Disaster

Local outlets cited an electric short circuit as the likely reason behind the incident. (coconuts.co)

Bali school principal demoted after viral video revealed disgraceful punishment of student A high school principal has been removed from his post after a 17-second video of him treating a student with the utmost disrespect went viral recently. The disgraced educator, however, is still permitted to teach after he was transferred to another school. The head of the Bali Education, Youth, and Sports Agency, Ketut Ngurah Boy Jayawibawa, confirmed today that the perpetrator, IKS, has been removed from the top job at Amlapura 3 Public High School in Karangasem. “The principal has been summoned and questioned, and was ultimately [demoted],” Boy Jayawibawa said.

The official did not reveal where IKS is now posted and is able to resume his teaching career. During questioning, IKS said he carried out the punishment on the student as a disciplinary measure, which violated the agency’s standard of conduct for educators. The video in question went viral earlier this week in which IKS was shown watching on as several male students performed push-ups in front of him and their entire class as punishment for their haircuts. As one boy appeared to be less than enthused with carrying out the punishment, IKS used his foot to push him down by the shoulder. CANGGU WEEKLY, 15 Apr -22 Apr 2022

IKS has confessed to exacting the punishment and humiliating one student with his foot, but insisted that his actions were carried out out of concern towards his children’s well-being. He also claimed that he and his students had an agreement in place subjecting anyone to 10 pushups for inappropriate trims. “This [happened] because we didn’t have a chance to [properly] educate our children,” said IKS, who said he is ready to face any consequences for his actions. flights between two of the most popular tourist destinations in Southeast Asia. “As [the two] are traveling destinations, we hope that the reconnecting of the two cities can further encourage global citizens to travel safely and comfortably, of course by following health protocols,” he said. Thailand is the third Southeast Asian country that is officially connected with the Island of Gods, after Singapore and Malaysia. Before the pandemic, demands for flights between Thailand and Bali in particular were quite high, the airline said in their statement. (coconuts.co)

39 kilos of drugs found in a villa were to be pushed to foreigners: Police for about two years since the COVID-19 outbreak hit globally. “The suspects stored narcotics in the villa and then the drugs were [to be] distributed to foreign citizens who would often visit nightclubs in Seminyak, Canggu, and Petitenget,” he said.

“[The narcotics entered the island] in January when Bali as well as both land and sea routes [into the island] were still quiet,” Putu Jayan said, adding that the suspects saw the reopening of nightclubs “as an opportunity.” The drug bust occurred last Friday and two suspects, KS, 35, and KW, 48, were arrested. The drugs that were seized included 800 ecstasy pills, 35,182.66 grams of crystal meth, 32 grams of cocaine, and 2,669.4 grams of marijuana, among others.

The Bali Police announced today a recent drug bust in which 39 kilograms of drugs (cocaine, crystal meth, weed – you name it, they found it) were found in a villa in Kerobokan Kelod. Authorities also identified three suspects in the case.

The police initially received tips from residents of Kerobokan Kelod about suspicious activity in their neighborhood. Ironically, the villa in question is located adjacent to the Kerobokan Correctional Institution.

The alleged drug kingpin, identified as AAGOP, 48, was later arrested for masterminding the scheme. AAGOP (who is also the villa’s owner) reportedly runs a night club and a tattoo studio in Seminyak.

Bali Police Chief Gen. Putu Jayan Danu Putra said that the syndicate aimed to sell the drugs to international visitors on the Island of Gods. Bali’s tourism is slowly waking up after being dormant

It was reported that the place became a “home industry” for ecstasy production in the past three months, with most of the ingredients smuggled from China.

Under the 2009 Anti-Narcotics Act, the suspects could either face death penalty or lifetime imprisonment if they’re found guilty. (coconuts.co)
