Leadership@Canisius

The Leadership@Canisius program offers to all students the opportunity to attend workshops, speaker events, and activities throughout the year to explore and elevate their leadership style, regardless of what they may study.

Resident Assistants (RA)

Resident Assistants facilitate the social, academic, and personal adjustment of students to the residence hall and develops a sense of community among residents as members of a floor or area.

Program Contact: Mark Piatkowski Orientation Leaders

The Orientation Leader (OL) position is an opportunity to assist incoming freshmen, transfer students, and their families with a successful transition to Canisius College. OLs work alongside faculty and staff to implement academic and social initiatives designed to assist student transition to Canisius College.  Lead Orientation Leaders: Lead OLs help coordinate the New Griff Orientation Program.  Senior Orientation Leaders: Senior OLs work as mentors to the new and returning OLs.

Retreat leaders help plan and lead Campus Ministry’s retreats. Student leaders work behind the scenes to help recruit, prepare for and manage retreats. During the retreat itself, leaders give talks and serve as small group facilitators.

Tour guides provide individual and group campus tours to prospective students and their families.

Program Contact: Kameron Prince Golden Griffin Leadership Academy

The Golden Griffin Leadership Academy is composed of three comprehensive succeeding levels of personal development. The academy was developed to provide an opportunity for student-athletes to further develop their leadership competencies while getting to know other student-athletes.

SAAC pledges to pursue academic and athletic excellence, uphold the ideals and values of the Jesuit tradition and seeks to generate a student-athlete voice within the athletics department and institution.
