WALL COLMONOY’S PRECISION COMPONENTS
AN INTEGRATED APPROACH CASTING, HEAT TREATING AND MACHINING ALL FROM ONE SOURCE Engineered cast or fully machined components are designed to optimise wear, corrosion, abrasion and heat resistant properties. Made from COLMONOY® (nickelbased), WALLEX™ (cobalt-based) or customer-specific alloys using Investment, Centrifugal, Sand Cast or Vacuum Cast Processes. Used throughout aerospace, automotive, chemical, food processing, glass, marine, oil & gas, power generation and steel industries. Components may be supplied in the as cast or fully machined condition from air or vacuum melted castings made by investment, sand, or spinning techniques. Machining facilities include EDM, CNC wire cutting, CNC grinding, honing, CNC milling, lapping and CNC turning.
Our technical team has amassed a wealth of skill, knowledge and know-how turning designers’ and engineers’ rigorous requirements into economically viable solutions. Our expert engineers select the optimum alloy and process to suit specific needs. Wall Colmonoy has an ongoing commitment to high quality manufacture and with its on-site laboratory and test facilities offers certification to national and internationally recognised standards. Each engineered component goes through a reassuringly stringent inspection process before final delivery. We maintain the quality assurance of ISO 9001.
CASTING METHODS: Investment – offers design flexibility, close dimensional control, consistency & repeatability, cost savings Centrifugal or Spin – is used to produce high integrity densely structured, cylindrical components like bushes and sleeves Sand – is typically used to produce larger components in smaller batches. It is capable of making mostly complex shapes using relatively inexpensive wood or resin patterns. Vacuum Casting – is used for alloys where tight compositional control and low inclusion counts are required - difficult to achieve when using conventional air melting and casting.
COLMONOY® - Nickel-based Alloys The Colmonoy family of Nickel, Chrome Boron Alloys offer superior wear protection, retaining their hardness up to 600˚C (1000˚F) while maintaining significant resistance to oxidation and corrosion. WALLEX™ - Cobalt-based Alloys These cobalt alloys have excellent wear and corrosion resistance and can maintain this at elevated temperatures. Customer-specific alloys Many customers have applications which require specific alloys in order to achieve required coating physical properties. Wall Colmonoy’s expert technical team work with customers to meet specific requirements.
