When we think of the cannabis plant, those big finger-like leaves are likely what comes to mind first. However, it’s the actual ‘flower’ - those densely packed, aromatic buds - that contain the majority of the benefits we obtain from the plant.

HERE’S A LOOK AT THE ACTUAL ANATOMY OF THIS AMAZING PLANT...

These are the small leaves that grow between the buds. They are usually saved as ‘trim’ and can be used to make edibles, oils, and extracts.

The flowers or ‘buds’ of a cannabis plant are the fruits of the plant. They only grow on female plants (yes, there are male and female cannabis plants!) and have to be dried before consuming. They are rich with the cannabinoids and terpenes that cause the ‘high’ and- offer health benefits.

Trichomes

These are the tiny blanket of crystal resin on the cannabis flower. These clear bulbous globes contain aromatic oils called terpenes, as well as therapeutic cannabinoids like THC and CBD.

These are the large, iconic leaves of the cannabis plant. They carry very little cannabinoids (CBD or THC, aka the good stuff) and are usually discarded.
