Bank Donates $12,000 to Community Groups
Community groups are over $12,000 better off following the inaugural Bendigo Bank, Canungra Branch Community Pitch Night on Wednesday 13th March.
Organisations were offered the opportunity to pitch a community project for funding by the Bank.

The proposals ranged from funding for Zonta’s Young Women in Public Affairs scholarship program to financial support for a new tennis club at Moriarty Park.
All organisations were advised on the night of their successful pitches and over $12,285 in funding was committed. Projects funded were:
• Canungra Hang Gliding Club – Supply launches and landing fields with
windsocks that play a vital part in keeping pilots safe.
• Canungra Rodeo – Canungra Cup race.
• St Luke’s Anglican Guild Canungra – Healing Service for Turning Canungra Pink and 2019 Community Christmas Carols.
• Canungra Area Golf Club - Improve signage and directions on the course.
• Canungra Scouts - Replace current tents that are over 10 years old.
• Canungra Chamber of Commerce – Marketing costs for Turning Canungra Pink.
• Canungra State School - Social and emotional program to help all kids with building resilience.
• Canungra Show Society – Art & Craft Activity Station for 2019 Canungra Show.
• Moriarty Park – Funds to provide a community friendly, book a court system.
• Zonta – Young Women in public affairs scholarship program. Bendigo Bank, Canungra Branch
Manager, Vanessa Skinner said it was encouraging to see so many local organisations represented on the night.
“All of the community groups are to be congratulated on the quality of their presentations,” said Vanessa.
“We look forwarding to continuing to support the community through our next Community Pitch night and community grants,” she said.
