High Point Rider Hilani Kampkin of Tallebudgera
It's been a busy time for the Club, with the Hack Show, rally days, external gymkhanas, catering for the Rodeo and Show and hosting our own Gymkhana. It doesn't stop there - we are still competing every other weekend! I think there are a few parents who would love to say “not this weekend, kids”. Being one of the smaller clubs in Zone 2, we rely heavily on sponsorship to hold our events. This year we are especially thankful for our sponsors’ generosity as we have been able to offer competitors not just a ribbon for placing in certain events, but also gift vouchers to various stores. We were also offered $200 prize money to winners of the very popular Teams Relay Event. High Point Rider went to Halani Kampkin from Tallebudgera. Halani received a stunning embroidered vest donated by Show Horse Design of Clagiraba. The winning high point club went to Mudgeeraba. The winning team “The Ranga's” received the $200 first prize, donated by Aussie Lifestyle Properties, for winning the Teams Relay Event. All winners of their Rider Classes received gift Vouchers from Horseland Nerang. Thank you to our major sponsors Hungry Jacks Nerang (cash and prizes totalling $1500) and Canungra FoodWorks (provided all the food for the event).

Thanks also to Tayben Electrical, Informed Conveyancing, PTC Catering from Fishermans Wharf Tavern, Christopher Hannay Lawyers, Equisol-Nerang and Gold Coast Mobile Micro Chipping for their support. We must thank Kristy Canty for being the official photographer on the day. Rider numbers were up by 20% on last year’s Gymkhana. This year's March past was won by Cedar Creek with Canungra coming second. Congratulations to all Canungra riders for their outstanding riding and team spirit. Justin Morrow, Jess Tyrer, Tori Tyrer and Taylor Jenkins all received High Point Rider placing trophies in their age groups. For more photos and videos of the Gymkhana please visit the Canungra Hack and Pony Club’s Facebook page, Canungra Pony Club Inc.
