Monday 20 April 2020 13:00-17:00 Safety in the aviation industry is on the verge of new processes, procedures, technology and services. New operations and operational paradigms are entering the aviation market, bringing with them the potential for previously unknown risks. These changes require a novel, proactive way of identifying, learning and mitigating risks prior to these incidents occurring. To address these challenges, Aireon, the Flight Safety Foundation and CANSO have partnered to create the first truly global aviation safety assessment initiative that will focus on identifying key precursors. This change in approach requires three key components: 1. Operational organizations agreeing to a common set of safety performance indicators in the pursuit improving of aviation safety 2. High quality, robust, global operational surveillance data that enables organizations to drive meaningful safety insights 3. Advanced analytics that leverages big data to identify risk prior to an accident This interactive workshop will allow for an open conversation on the purpose of this partnership between Aireon, the Flight Safety Foundation and CANSO, and how this capability may be leveraged by the CANSO Safety Community.
