tabula masa

The New Domesticity Project aims at rethinking the domestic life in a living space, designing furniture that corresponds to this life with its broadest sense, in a conceptual way. The project consists of four main phases; research, design, production and setup. Furniture reveals its real possibilities of form and function when it is critically assessed as a supplier of function (fourniture) or ‘movables in a dwelling place’ (mobile), instead of conventional archetypes such as tables, chairs, cupboards or sofas. * How we create a desk intergrated in the house enviroment and closing with today’s way of working? The proposal of this project is design simple desk according to the target needs. Creating space for laptop, tablet, smartphone, gadgets, pencils etc ...The small shelf is enough your eye point so your tablets will fit over it and has enough space to accommodate desk stationary set. project instruction* Avsar Gürpınar

r-autoprogettazione I

The summer practice of BILGI Product Design students has focused on Enzo Mari's Autoprogettazione? (1974) project, which was one of the earliest yet finest examples of open design. Mari's furnitures, designed with simple, standardised pieces and joints are characterized with their ease of manufacture and cost reduction.Students re-projected and modified these open design objects with the contemporary production methods (such as CNC). Optimised nesting and interlocking systems enabled the reduction of raw material, joint elements and hardware. The furnitures are produced in true-to-scale whereas the design and manufacture processes are documented in detail within a catalogue (in progress), which will be then shared with CC BY-NC-SA (Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike) licences.* Group project with Arad Suna, İkra Kılıç, Gülbüke Susaruğur, Gökberk Günday, Sidre Okumuş project instruction* Avsar Gürpınar / Cansu Cürgen

alfresco

In first two-semester of the Architecture Faculty, we aim to understand the world through abstraction and conceptualization of surroundings: shapes, forms, figures, colors, textures, materials, scales... and use these understandings to produce organizations. For the Final Project of our first year, we made researches on material performance and detailing. While the Alfresco designing process we deformed the two sections of triangels on the x,y,z coordinats. After the deformation our macroform was created. We combined our sections with the method of dovetail joint. Also we used a screw when we combined the sections that touches each other. For the other sections we used a screw called "allen" Also for aesthectic purposes we used bamboo pieces on these screws. We aimed a good visual relationship between wood joints and bamboos. We compunded our macroforms with two tie rods from down. However with our variational macroform the atness of tie rods disappeared on the top. pinhole photography experience

Graduation Project Mentor: Cemre YeĹ&#x;il GĂśnenli The "camera" that we use actively in our everyday lives we can reach the image quickly with them. If we rethink image creating process and the experience of photography through analogue photo. This system allows pinhole photographs to be taken and developed in two components. Can we rethink darkroom experience with different within system requirements. One box is used for taking photographs another component is included some developing liquids. All of the process can be followed by people. We can make people more active and productive in this process with a photo unit that can play on film, chemical, bath and shooting settings create images and collect different imaging techniques in one place. In consequently, to create a device designed through the experience of combining the processes of photographing and printing.

cubetto

MEDS Workshop - Divercity Byblos’18 Byblos and other cities of Lebanon are currently facing the issue of the cover privatization of land, which has resulted in a lack of public space. In addition to this, there is also the problem of pollution along the coast that has left to many beautiful beaches littered with plastics. This intervention seeks to address this need for public space in Lebanon by situating itself in the neutral territory of the Mediterranean. The pavilion is meant to be a recreational amenity that is accessible to everyone in the community. Cubetto's frame is constructed from renewable and recycled materials to inspire local architecture that is both socially and environmentally sustainable. Within this frame is a parabolic form that is constructed from hung strips of fabric. The complex layering of space, while its lightness allows Cubetto to become animated by surrounding winds and attract interest of passers by. Here, we have provided suggestions of how Cubetto can be used, however we welcome you as a user to find new and creative ways to experience the sea with this new tool. *Group project with Eugenio Chironna, Alexandre Marguerie, Zineddine Djouama, Uli Kneisl, Andrew Byrbe, Karen Gebara, Stevo Marovic, Paula Lopez, Begum Saral, Zeki Eneshan Kavakli, Robby Stubbs, Theresa Jaspers, Eduardo Crespo
