C a nuc k Pl ac e is a story of courage and vision, and a shining example of the good that comes from individuals and organizations seeing a need in their community and working together to fill it. In this case, there was a need to provide another care option for children with life-limiting illnesses and their families – an option that would give families the added flexibility to access hospice care when hospital or home care could no longer meet their needs.

Our partnership with the Canucks for Kids Fund and our relationship with the ownership, management, coaching staff and players, and with the fans of the Vancouver Canucks are of utmost importance to Canuck Place and of special significance to our children and families. The Vancouver Canucks are a fundamental supporter of Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. The Canucks for Kids Fund supports a variety of charities with a primary focus on grassroots hockey, education and children's health and wellness. The Fund helps families and children to improve their quality of life. Since the Canucks for Kids Fund first began its charitable work twenty years ago, they have donated over $17 million to B.C. based charities. The Canucks for Kids Fund has, in the past two years, generously provided record levels of funding to Canuck Place. With a gift from the Canucks this past year of well over $2 million, the Hospice has established a specific contingency reserve fund to help bridge the effect of the NHL work disruption on the team’s ability to raise money for the Hospice.
