This eight-week summer program gives you insight into the significant ways in which Dublin has been imagined, reinvented, and transformed by globalization. Earn 6 or 9 credits.

OPTIONAL FOR-CREDIT INTERNSHIP

Participate in an internship opportunity, earn 3 or 6 credits, and gain valuable skills. Internship placements are accompanied by the required Global Internship Course. Placements will vary based on major and career goals, and sample roles include Sports Marketing Intern, Costume Design Intern, and Accounts Payable, Receivable & Bookkeeping Intern.

On any given day, you can stroll from Dublin’s charming medieval quarter—through art-filled neighborhoods and parks—to the Docklands, Europe’s Silicon Valley. Enjoy the street art, markets, beautiful Georgian architecture, and musicians along the way. The CAPA Center is hosted at Griffith College, a private Irish institution located near a café-filled residential haven close to the city center.

MY GLOBAL CITY

The My Global City events calendar offers a wide range of CAPA-led and self-led activities and social events each week. All events connect to one or more of CAPA’s diversity, globalization, urban environments, and social dynamics learning outcomes.

A guided visit to Croke Park—a national sports and cultural stadium—takes place the first weekend. Other activities reflect what is on in the city at the time and may include a tour of “Googletown” in the Docklands, exploring some of the country’s beautiful medieval castles, or joining in on the fun at the many film, food, and cultural festivals that take place each year.

EXCURSIONS

Enjoy a full day excursion to Belfast and a Dublin city tour. Social events and program activities include an arrival reception, mid-term dinner, a farewell ceremony, and a guided tour of Dublin street art.
