Surf Parks International will rebuild the existing Surf Lakes Yeppoon research and development site and include significant development so that it may be open to the public. The site, located midway between Rockhampton and Yeppoon, has been in use since 2018, but being a prototype, has served to successfully prove, test, and improve the capability of this unique wave-making technology, welcoming countless of Australia’s elite surfers, and Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth. The developed site will allow for accommodation, a food and beverage precinct, eco camping and glamping, events, an entertainment area, and more. Construction is expected to begin in 2023 with an anticipated public opening in 2025.
Monsoon Aquatics has established Australia’s largest coral farm at the Port of Bundaberg and are ready to share the beauty and scientific wonder of coral growing with visitors through the delivery of a purposefully designed, transformational visitor experience. Scientists at heart, Monsoon both propagate and spawn coral on site, with a view to contributing to reef restoration efforts through re-planting on the Great Barrier Reef in the long term.
