One of the most eye-catching vehicles on display at the Shanghai Auto Show was the MercedesMaybach EQS, with its striking two-tone finish and its pinstriped grille.

With the Concept EQS, Mercedes-Maybach is providing a clear preview of the first fully electric series-production model for the luxury brand. The SUV concept vehicle is based on the modular architecture for luxury- and executive-class electric vehicles from Mercedes-Benz and takes “the exclusivity of Maybach into a locally emissionfree future,” according to the manufacturer.

Chinese automaker BYD revealed a number of different models at the Shanghai Auto Show last month, including the ‘Seagull’ which the brand says is targeted at the wider market.

Equipped with BYD’s latest technologies, BYD Seagull has pre-sale price ranges from 78,800 to 95,800 RMB, which works out to between £9,000 and £11,000 approximately.

The near-production one-off also showcases the ‘executive interior’ which show parallels to the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. The “First Class” rear suite includes the high-end ‘Entertainment System’, whilst the added size from the SUV allows for more seat height.

This model is designed with unique marine aesthetics, and its exterior look exudes vibrant energy and liveliness. The vehicle assures all-dimensional safety for customers, as it is built with the Blade Battery and upon the e Platform 3.0.
