Sphere Entertainment Co. has announced a landmark collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) to establish the world’s second Sphere venue in the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
The innovative entertainment structure will be a groundbreaking addition to Abu Dhabi’s growing cultural and tourism portfolio, bringing a new dimension to live entertainment for both residents and international visitors.
James L. Dolan, Executive Chairman and CEO of Sphere Entertainment, highlighted the significance of this expansion: “The vision for Sphere has always included a global network of venues, and today’s announcement marks a major milestone toward that goal. Sphere is redefining live entertainment, and we are excited to collaborate with DCT Abu Dhabi to introduce this transformative experience to the city.”
H.E. Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of DCT Abu Dhabi, echoed these sentiments, saying: “We are thrilled to partner with Sphere Entertainment to bring this extraordinary new form of entertainment to Abu Dhabi. The Sphere will merge advanced technology with compelling storytelling, creating unforgettable experiences for everyone who visits. This collaboration aligns with our Tourism Strategy 2030, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s status as a cultural hub and leader in immersive entertainment.”
Since the launch of the first Sphere venue in Las Vegas in September 2023, Sphere Entertainment has been actively pursuing its goal of establishing a global network of these futuristic entertainment venues. The venue in Abu Dhabi is expected to follow the scale and success of its 20,000-capacity counterpart in Las Vegas, offering a unique combination of immersive technology and large-scale live events, such as concerts, shows, and performances.
The venue, which will be located in a prime area of Abu Dhabi, aims to enhance the city’s appeal as a year-round destination for international visitors. In 2023, Abu Dhabi welcomed more than 24 million tourists, and this new venue will further cement its reputation as a global leader in culture, innovation, and entertainment.
Under the terms of the partnership, DCT Abu Dhabi will cover the construction costs of the Sphere, which will be designed and built using Sphere Entertainment’s proprietary technology and expertise.
In return, Sphere Entertainment will receive a franchise initiation fee and will provide ongoing support in areas such as development, construction, and pre-opening services. Post-launch, the company will maintain an ongoing relationship with DCT Abu Dhabi, including licensing content, providing operational services, and offering strategic advisory support.
The Abu Dhabi Sphere promises to redefine entertainment in the region, offering cutting-edge immersive experiences that will attract visitors from across the globe, furthering the emirate’s vision as a dynamic cultural and tourism destination.
Delta Air Lines has announced a comprehensive refresh of its cabin interiors, marking a significant step forward in the airline’s customer experience as it approaches its 100th anniversary.
The updated cabin design will first debut on a narrowbody Boeing 757 aircraft this fall, followed by a widebody Airbus A350 in early 2025. These enhancements are aimed at elevating both domestic and international travel, promising a modern, more comfortable flying experience for passengers.
Mauricio Parise, Vice President of Customer Experience Design at Delta, stated: “Delta has a 100-year history of creating a customer experience that feels welcoming and thoughtful. As we embark on our next century of flying, this refreshed cabin interior infuses utility with beauty to create an atmosphere that feels fresh, elevated, and timeless.”
The new cabin interiors have been designed with passenger comfort at their core, integrating memory-foam cushions and breathable materials across the fleet. Delta One customers will enjoy new fabric seats crafted from a wool and nylon blend, engineered to regulate temperature and ensure maximum comfort. Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin passengers will benefit from seats made of engineered leather with signature stitching and accent stripes, while the new lighting systems create a calming atmosphere tailored to different phases of the flight.
The lighting design is one of the standout features of the refresh, with tailored lighting programs to suit various moments of the journey. For example, boarding will feature warm, inviting lighting, while meal services will simulate a candlelit ambiance. Sleep lighting borrows from sunset hues, designed to reduce blue light and create a restful environment, before gradually transitioning to daylight for morning arrivals.
Delta is also introducing a softer, warmer colour palette with natural materials like wool and subtle nods to its heritage colours. This fresh design includes Delta widget logos, new branding patterns on bulkheads, and updated lavatories with bright walls and Azure Blue accents.
The rollout of these cabin enhancements will begin with the Boeing 757 later this year on domestic and short-haul international routes, while the Airbus A350 will carry the new design into long-haul international routes from 2025. Additional aircraft will be updated with the new interiors as Delta continues its fleet-wide transformation in the coming years.
This bold refresh reflects Delta’s commitment to combining innovation with customer-focused design, ensuring every flight feels like a premium experience from takeoff to landing.
Qantas is ramping up its international operations with the addition of 220,000 seats over the next 12 months, new routes, and the introduction of upgraded aircraft. The Australian carrier is responding to growing demand in key Asia Pacific and US markets, marking a significant expansion of its network.
From February 2025, Qantas will add 220,000 seats across its international network by leveraging new aircraft and route modifications. This includes the launch of a new Brisbane–Palau route, the return of two Airbus A380s from maintenance, and the arrival of nextgeneration A220 aircraft for QantasLink.
More Seats to the United States Qantas is set to increase its capacity to the United States by 13%, with an additional 30% of premium seating available on long-haul flights. This will be supported by the return of more A380 aircraft from August 2025, delivering more comfort and options for passengers travelling between Australia and the US. Additionally, the airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner will return to service on the Brisbane–Los Angeles and Brisbane–Auckland routes, offering a broader range of seating options, including Premium Economy.
Brisbane to Palau Route
In a major new development, Qantas will introduce a weekly Brisbane–Palau service, marking the airline’s first connection to the Pacific island. Operated by 737 aircraft, this route, known as the ‘Palau Paradise Express’, will enhance tourism and trade links between Australia and Palau. Famous for its crystal-clear waters and diverse marine life, Palau is an exciting addition to Qantas’s growing leisure network. The service is part of a government contract aimed at strengthening regional connectivity, with flights expected to begin soon and tickets going on sale within weeks.
QantasLink’s new A220 aircraft will debut on the international network with the launch of the Darwin–Singapore route in March 2025. Originally scheduled to operate with the smaller Embraer E190, the 137-seat A220 will fly five times per week, adding 70,000 seats annually on this important route. The A220 is part of Qantas’s broader fleet renewal, replacing the aging Boeing 717s and offering extended range and enhanced comfort on both domestic and short-haul international routes.
In a strategic shift, Qantas will end its Sydney–Seoul service in mid-June 2025, while its low-cost subsidiary Jetstar will
increase flights on the same route from four times weekly to daily. This change will result in an overall increase in seat availability and cater to the growing leisure demand between the two cities.

With an array of landmarks, world-class dining, luxury hotels, and entertainment options, NYC offers something for every kind of traveller. In recent years, the trend of bleisure travel has found fertile ground here, blending the demands of the modern business traveller with the opportunities for relaxation, exploration, and recreation that New York promises.
We will take you through a three-day itinerary, offering a mix of iconic attractions, local favourites, and top recommendations for accommodations and dining. Whether you’re visiting for business, a holiday, or an all-encompassing bleisure trip, this vibrant city is poised to leave a lasting impression.
Your first day in NYC should be focused on the west side, a rich tapestry of modern architecture, culinary delights, and historical significance. Whether you’re strolling through art-laden parks or reflecting on moments in history, the journey begins in one of the most captivating areas of the city.
HUDSON YARDS: Start your exploration at Hudson Yards, New York’s most recent mega-development project. This neighbourhood is home to “The Vessel,” a stunning, honeycomb-shaped staircase offering views of the Hudson River and the surrounding skyline. For the more adventurous traveller, the Edge observation deck, located in Hudson Yards, is a must. It’s the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere, providing panoramic views of Manhattan and beyond.
THE HIGH LINE: A stone’s throw away is the High Line, an elevated park that runs from Hudson Yards to the Meatpacking District. This unique green space, built on a former railway track, provides a tranquil walk with public art installations and amazing views of the city’s west side. A favourite among both locals and tourists, it is an ideal way to take in the city’s beauty while getting a bit of fresh air.

This iconic indoor market is known for its food stalls, offering an array of cuisines from seafood and tacos to artisanal bread and pastries. It’s a perfect spot to refuel, whether you want to grab something quickly or sit down for a meal. The market also houses a number of shops where you can pick up local goods or souvenirs.
LITTLE ISLAND: After lunch, make your way to Little Island, an innovative park on the Hudson River that seems to float on giant tulip-shaped concrete columns. This man-made marvel is a beautiful spot to relax or enjoy one of its many programmed performances during the warmer months. It’s a testament to NYC’s commitment to blending nature with urban design.
GREENWICH VILLAGE: Next, take a stroll to Greenwich Village, one of New York’s most storied neighbourhoods. Known for its bohemian past, it’s also home to Washington Square Park, an iconic gathering spot for artists, musicians, and NYU students. The neighbourhood’s charming, tree-lined streets are filled with cafes, bars, and small boutiques, making it a perfect place to experience the city’s laid-back vibe.
9/11 MEMORIAL AND WALL STREET: No trip to New York would be complete without paying homage at the 9/11 Memorial, located in lower Manhattan. The twin reflecting pools at Ground Zero offer a solemn tribute to those who lost their lives in the September 11 attacks. Take
time to explore the 9/11 Museum, where multimedia exhibits narrate the tragic events and heroic stories from that day.
Adjacent to the memorial is the One World Trade Center, the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, where you can take
a ride to the observation deck for another breathtaking view of the city.
Just a short walk away is Wall Street, the heart of America’s financial district. Business travellers will be particularly interested in the Stock Exchange and
ROCKEFELLER CENTER
Federal Hall, where George Washington took his oath of office.
STATUE OF LIBERTY AND ELLIS ISLAND: Cap off the day with a trip to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Catch the Staten Island Ferry for a free view of Lady Liberty or take a guided tour to explore Ellis Island, the gateway for millions of immigrants who helped build the city. This tour is both informative and reflective of New York’s diverse history.
Day two brings a mix of culture, history, and quintessential New York experiences. From museums to skyscrapers, you’ll find yourself immersed in the heart of Manhattan.
MUSEUM OF MODERN ART (MOMA):
Start with a visit to MoMA, one of the most influential modern art museums in the world. Its collection spans works from Van Gogh and Picasso to Warhol and contemporary artists, making it a must-see for art lovers.
CENTRAL PARK AND FAMOUS FILM
SITES: Next, enjoy Central Park, the city’s most beloved green space. The park features many famous film locations, such as Bethesda Fountain from Home Alone 2 and the Bow Bridge, featured in When Harry Met Sally. You can also rent a boat at the Loeb Boathouse or visit Strawberry Fields, a memorial to John Lennon.
LUNCH AT JACOB’S PICKLES: Head to Jacob’s Pickles on the Upper West Side for a hearty lunch. Known for its signature pickles, the restaurant also serves Southern comfort
food, including fried chicken, biscuits, and mac ‘n’ cheese—a perfect indulgence.
ROCKEFELLER CENTER AND TOP OF THE ROCK: After lunch, visit Rockefeller Center. During winter, its ice-skating rink becomes a seasonal highlight. Head to *Top of the Rock* for a stunning view of the Empire State Building and Central Park.
TIMES SQUARE AND BROADWAY: End the day with a visit to Times Square, illuminated by neon signs and bustling with street performers. If you’re a theatre enthusiast, catch a Broadway show to experience the world’s best productions.
For your final day, it’s time to take in some more quintessential NYC sights and wrap up your trip with a blend of business and leisure.
GRAND CENTRAL TERMINAL: Start your day at Grand Central Terminal, one of the most beautiful train stations in the world. With its ornate astronomical ceiling and classic architecture, it’s a sight to behold. The dining concourse also offers some great breakfast options, including the iconic Grand Central Oyster Bar.

its observatories on the 86th and 102nd floors. Its history and significance as a beacon of ambition make it a must-visit, especially for business travelers with a love for architecture and design.

The financial services industry is, of course, a major draw, with Wall Street at its epicenter. NYC is also a leader in media, advertising, and tech, with Silicon Alley in lower Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn fast becoming hubs for startups and innovation.
The city is also a vital player in fashion, with Fashion Week drawing designers and buyers from around the globe. With just 48 hours to explore, you’ll find yourself whisked away on a journey through centuries-old history, modern-day marvels, cultural richness, culinary delights, lush green spaces, and the indomitable spirit of resilience that defines this city.
Start your Krakow adventure in the MAIN MARKET SQUARE (RYNEK GŁÓWNY), the beating heart of the city’s Old Town. As you stand amidst the medieval architecture, you can almost hear the echoes of the past. The iconic ST. MARY’S BASILICA towers over the square, its bugle call sounding on the hour, a reminder of a centuries-old tradition.

As the day progresses, step into the present by exploring the KAZIMIERZ DISTRICT, once the historical center of Jewish life in Krakow. Now, it’s a hip neighborhood
brimming with contemporary art galleries, quirky shops, and vibrant street art.
On your second day, dive deeper into Krakow’s cultural scene. Visit the NATIONAL MUSEUM or the MOCAK MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART to witness the city’s artistic evolution.

Business travel plays a key role in growth for SME’s but let’s not forget about the potential risks that can quickly turn your trip from fun to financial burden (& let’s not forget the headache that naturally comes along with it).
Bespoke business travel insurance is here to save the day, providing you with more than just a safety net.
Everyone knows they need a travel insurance policy to protect themselves and their family/friends for their leisure holiday, but it’s no different in the corporate world. If you don’t have the right cover, your business could face several issues! Legal fees, medical expenses, rescheduling costs, and so many other risks. Bespoke insurance provides a financial safeguard for your business.
Not to mention that protecting your employees isn’t just a financial safeguard, but an ethical responsibility! Medical bills can quickly escalate, especially in high-cost areas, comprehensive insurance covers the cost and ensures your employee is taken care of.
Every business is unique, and your insurance should reflect that. Bespoke insurance is a tailored service, designed to cover all your businesses individual needs and prevent unnecessary costs. The opposite of an average standard, one-size fits all policy.
Here’s why a bespoke policy is the best option for your business:
CUSTOM COVER: Bespoke policies are customised to ensure that any destinations, activities, individual risks and needs are covered to avoid unnecessary cover and cost, so you’re always protected where it matters.
INTERRUPTION COSTS: Disruption to critical meetings and events can often be unavoidable, from missed transport to delays, however with bespoke insurance the rescheduling costs are covered to prevent financial impact.
FLEXIBILITY: A bespoke policies cover can be adapted to evolve with your business. Travelling to new areas? Employing new staff? Extending trips? Your policy can be adapted to include these changes, protecting your business, always.
MEDICAL EXPENSES & REPATRIATION: If your employees aren’t travelling against medical advice or travelling to receive medical treatment or advice, then any necessary medical expenses
are covered (including pre-existing medical issues), as well as transporting and/or repatriating your sick employee/s to the nearest hospital, or alternatively back home. This protects your employees, guaranteeing they receive the best care, and your businesses financial position.
It’s important that you choose the best insurance for you, which starts by finding the right insurance broker for you. Working with your broker, they will assess your unique risks and needs to tailor your cover to you.
Bespoke insurance isn’t a tick box exercise, it’s about securing your businesses future. Not only does it protect your businesses financial position, but also your employees, allowing them to travel confidently and focus on finding new opportunities for your business.
DIRECTOR COVER: Some bespoke policies also offer directors and their family’s cover on leisure holidays, meaning they do not need to pay the extra cost for personal travel insurance. It is important to check that this is part of your policy before travelling, in case it is not included with your insurer.
SIMONS GUBBINS, MANAGING DIRECTOR, ROBINSON INSURANCE BROKERS
Amy Leversidge, the newly appointed general secretary of the British Airline Pilots Association (Balpa), is determined to increase the number of women pilots, despite not being a pilot herself.
As the first woman to lead the 87-yearold union, Leversidge is focused on making the flight deck more accessible to women, addressing systemic barriers in a male-dominated profession.
With UK airlines facing a pilot shortage after thousands left the industry during the Covid-19 pandemic, Leversidge sees a significant opportunity to diversify the cockpit. However, progress has been slow, with women still making up just 6% of pilots in Britain. Even easyJet, which leads the industry with targeted recruitment campaigns, has only reached 7.5%.
Leversidge emphasises that while airlines are open to hiring women, practical obstacles like inadequate maternity pay,
challenges with returning to work after leave, and insufficient support for working parents hinder progress. “There are lots of things airlines could do to make being a pilot a lot more accessible for women,” she explained. She highlights the importance of backing up recruitment efforts with robust policies, rather than relying solely on visibility in advertising.
Leversidge is advocating for better policies around maternity leave, support for women going through menopause, and flexible arrangements for pilots with childcare responsibilities. She noted that many prospective women pilots are discouraged by the demanding nature of the job, especially long-haul flights, and the financial burden of training, which can exceed £100,000—often funded by parents.
Beyond lobbying for policy changes, Leversidge is also encouraging female pilots to visit schools to inspire young girls, underlining the importance of
representation: “It’s that whole thing of if you can see it, you can be it.” She believes that early engagement and outreach can play a crucial role in shifting perceptions and opening doors for future generations of women pilots.
Leversidge’s path to leading Balpa was unconventional. A sociology graduate with previous roles at the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) and the FDA civil service union, she has no experience flying planes. Nonetheless, her background in labour relations and her successful track record in negotiating pay deals for Balpa members have earned her the confidence of the union’s executive council and members.
Since taking office, she has secured long-term pay agreements with major airlines including easyJet, Virgin Atlantic, TUI, DHL, and Loganair. She also made headlines for her role in a strike against helicopter operator Bristow, which led to a significant pay rise for pilots and ground crew. Her approach has been praised for balancing assertive negotiation with a collaborative spirit, showing her commitment to both pilots’ rights and the sustainability of the aviation industry.
Leversidge believes that Balpa plays a critical role beyond negotiating pay, with
members involved in committees on flight safety, environmental issues, and job security—an area she feels needs improvement in the aviation industry. She has expressed optimism about the Labour government’s commitment to ending “fire and rehire” practices, though she
insists Balpa remains politically neutral, with its membership often leaning “small c conservative.”
As the first woman to lead Balpa, Leversidge is also aware of the challenges women face in the trade union movement
itself, which has traditionally been slow to promote women to senior roles. She remains positive, citing progress within other unions like Unison and Unite, and has found support among Balpa’s members, including retired pilots who have reached out to encourage her.
Leversidge is committed to changing the narrative around what it means to be a pilot and ensuring that women have a place in the skies. By addressing practical challenges, advocating for better working conditions, and enhancing visibility of female pilots, she aims to make the aviation industry more inclusive for future generations, proving that leadership in aviation doesn’t require wings, just determination and vision.

Travel risk management programmes, whilst not a silver bullet, are essential for companies of all sizes to ensure the safety, health, and wellbeing of their travellers, and can help them navigate and mitigate against the impact of potentially unforeseen travel complications.
These programmes must go beyond mere compliance and involve true care, focusing on the individual and understanding their needs. This approach not only protects employees but also boosts their confidence, productivity, and loyalty. In addition, these programmes are a worthwhile financial investment, with the cost of an unforeseen event often far exceeding the investment in a solid risk management plan.
Travel risk management best practice puts the traveller at the heart of every decision, holding fast to the idea that this activity should be spearhead by care, and the overriding fact that each individual traveller has real and unique requirements that must be prioritised in the mix.
Since the upheaval of 2020 there is now no single way to do things. Some travellers who were previously road warriors now opt to stay at home. At the same time, there are those who couldn’t wait to travel again, but perhaps on different terms than before, and all of these opinions keep changing and evolving.
As a bare minimum, companies should conduct an initial risk assessment to identify the risks associated with travel and ensure their employees are fully covered with the appropriate travel insurance. This can be followed with a simple system for tracking travel itineraries and the set-up of a reliable communication process so travellers can easily get in touch during emergencies
In the lead up to the trip, travel managers, both in-house or outsourced, should provide travellers with all of the information they need such as guidance on specific
BY MELANIE QUINN, DIRECTOR OF CORPORATE TRAVEL, TRAVEL COUNSELLORS FOR BUSINESS
Asbusiness travel continues to grow at pace, it’s crucial for companies to establish an effective travel management process. This need has been further highlighted by global events like the pandemic, which added unparalleled layers of complexity to business travel. With this in view, the challenge often lies in knowing where to begin.
destination risks and how to handle an unexpected event.
Whilst there are steps companies can follow to create robust travel risk management programmes, SMEs are likely to find implementing these more trying than their larger counterparts due to limited resources and budgets. As a result, travel risk management might not always get the attention it requires.
However, these challenges aren’t insurmountable. Instead, SMEs should take the time to discuss how to tackle these challenges and find practical solutions.
As corporates become increasingly aware of the importance of travel risk
management and fulfilling not just travel legal requirements but employees’ needs, it is imperative that personalised and care-focused travel risk management programmes become the norm.
For some, partnering with a travel management company (TMC) –particularly that which offers cuttingedge tech complemented by the human touch – will be crucial in providing effective travel risk management and avoiding stretching their resources too thinly.
Such TMCs can streamline travel processes, manage risks and reduce costs, while offering expertise and quick responses in emergencies. The benefits to the SME not only present in the bottom line, but vitally, ensure the wellbeing of corporate travellers remains the number one priority.
Great Plains has unveiled a remarkable new addition to its prestigious RéserveCollection, the Mara Toto Tree Camp, set amidst the iconic landscape of Kenya’s Maasai Mara. Officially opened in July this year, this luxury safari camp is an extraordinary blend of elegance and adventure, offering
a unique treetop experience in one of the world’s most famous wildlife destinations. With its secluded location in the Maasai Mara National Reserve and exclusive access to the Mara North Conservancy, the Mara Toto Tree Camp promises to redefine luxury travel for modern-day explorers.
Mara Toto Tree Camp is designed to immerse guests in nature while delivering the highest standards of comfort. Nestled within a forest canopy and perched above the serene Ntiakitiak River, the camp features four spacious, luxurious tented suites. Each suite comes with an en-suite bathroom, safaristyle showers, and stunning views that capture the surrounding wilderness. The camp can accommodate up to eight adults, making it an ideal choice for small groups, families, or those looking for an intimate safari experience.
The camp’s design takes inspiration from the romantic era of African safaris, combining classic elegance with modern amenities. Elevated walkways meander between trees, providing access to the suites while offering opportunities for wildlife encounters even after a day on the plains. The central lounge and dining area is the perfect spot to relax after a day of
exploration, while an outdoor fire pit offers an ideal setting for evening storytelling under the stars.
Located in the heart of East Africa’s big cat territory, Mara Toto Tree Camp offers unrivalled wildlife viewing opportunities. Safari drives are conducted in specially designed open-sided vehicles that seat only four guests, ensuring a personal and immersive experience. The camp’s proximity to both the Maasai Mara National Reserve and Mara North Conservancy means guests can explore a vast and pristine landscape teeming with wildlife, from lions and leopards to elephants and the famous wildebeest migration.
The camp’s treetop location offers a unique perspective on the surrounding wildlife, with leopards often spotted and lions heard during the night. For photography enthusiasts, Mara Toto Tree Camp provides high-quality Canon camera equipment in each suite, and guests can even take photography lessons to enhance their skills. At the end of their stay, travellers receive a keepsake memory stick filled with the best moments captured during their adventure.
Great Plains, founded by National Geographic explorers Dereck and Beverly
Joubert, has made sustainability a core principle of its camps. Mara Toto Tree Camp is no exception. Much of the camp’s furniture has been crafted from recycled wood, including old sailing dhows from the Kenyan coast. In keeping with the founders’ directive that no trees be harmed during construction, the camp’s design carefully incorporates the surrounding trees into its architecture. Bathrooms have been built around the trunks of majestic ebony trees, and the main decking area wraps gracefully around their branches.
The camp’s design also reflects the beauty of its environment. Interiors feature soft greys and teal accents, with natural wood elements that echo the treetop theme. Local fabrics and handcrafted pieces, including Baobab tree seedpod lights, add an authentic touch to the décor. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered to create a luxurious yet environmentally conscious space.
Mara Toto Tree Camp’s location offers a front-row seat to one of nature’s most spectacular events—the annual wildebeest migration. Typically occurring in July and August, this migration sees over one million animals cross from Tanzania’s Serengeti into Kenya’s Maasai Mara in search of fresh grazing land. A second, smaller migration takes place in the spring, when zebra and wildebeest return from the Loita Plains.
For a truly unforgettable experience, guests can take to the skies in a hot air balloon, soaring over the Mara at sunrise to witness the breathtaking landscape from above. On the ground, a range of activities are available, from guided nature walks to cultural visits with the local Maasai communities.
After a day of adventure, guests can unwind with an in-room spa treatment, enjoying the soothing sounds of the bush as they relax in the privacy of their suite. Mara Toto Tree Camp also offers exceptional dining, with locally sourced ingredients served in the camp’s central dining area or al fresco under the African sky.
Nightly rates at Mara Toto Tree Camp start from $1,445 per person, all-inclusive. For those seeking the ultimate luxury safari experience, Great Plains offers the option to combine stays at its other exclusive properties, including Mara Nyika Camp and ol Donyo Lodge, for a comprehensive Kenyan safari journey.

Whether it’s getting to a client meeting across town or to the hotel after landing in a new city, the need for ground transportation is a constant requirement when travelling for business. And, when we’re working, we want to be sure we can get from A to B as quickly and effortlessly as possible.
That’s why Uber for Business makes it easy for you to book rides and order meals – and keeps your focus on the purpose of your journey. Travellers can do this all over the world, in more than 70 countries.
Our aim is to provide a service that removes the typical pain points that business travellers will be familiar with –like being worried that you need to get to back to back meetings with little time for things to go wrong, or having to apologise to prospective customers for a late arrival because your taxi is delayed.
Our Uber Reserve feature helps with this. It allows rides to be booked ahead of time so you don’t need to worry about requesting a car minutes before travelling. Uber Reserve also has extra driver wait time included, so you know the car will be waiting even if you’re held up.
Business travellers need to be punctual but feel relaxed when arriving for an important meeting. We offer a range of executive vehicles that help with this by providing extra comfort, space and leg room.
To ensure business travellers feel well looked after, riders can also choose from our Business Comfort, Business Exec, Exec XXL and Lux and be given access to enhanced support from experienced customer service agents who will provide added help should anything ever go awry.
To remove the hassle of managing expenses, we’ve made it possible for businesses to integrate with their expense provider. This allows Uber receipts to automatically attach to expense reports. The Global Business Travel Associations (GBTA) estimates expense claims take 20 minutes on average to complete – but, the automation of Uber Rides and Uber Eats receipt attachments, means there is one less administrative task to worry about.
For business travellers supported by an executive or personal assistant, it’s also possible to give third parties access to business profiles through our Delegate booking feature. Whoever you assign as a delegate for your account can manage all arrangements, expenses and after travel care on your behalf.
We are constantly looking for ways to improve Uber for Business. For instance,
business riders are now eligible for double British Airways Avios points for every £1 spent on an Uber trip. Avios points can be spent on everything from flights and hotels to leisure experiences.
But, it’s not just travellers that we help. Uber for Business also supports your travel and expense managers, by providing a free platform that helps them to look after employees. For example, if staff are travelling in far flung corners of the world, travel managers can integrate Uber for Business with information and tracking services such as ISOS TravelTracker –to help them meet their duty of care responsibilities.

Diriberry’s success is rooted in her strategic approach to stakeholder management, which she views as critical to driving meaningful change within the company. “Stakeholder management is often seen as a necessary evil, but when executed effectively, it can drive real results,”
With this in mind, she undertook the monumental task of consolidating BAT’s global travel programme, aiming to bring consistency and control to a previously fragmented system.
When Diriberry joined BAT in 2016, her initial focus was on defining a hotel and airline sourcing strategy. However, by 2023, she had shifted her attention to the company’s more pressing challenge: its highly decentralised travel booking model. For years, BAT’s travel management had been handled by a patchwork of local travel management companies (TMCs), with an incumbent TMC managing 80% of the company’s spend but lacking a truly global footprint.
Recognising the need for a unified approach, Diriberry led a global request for proposal (RFP) process aimed at selecting a new TMC that could streamline booking and payment processes, drive policy compliance, and integrate with the company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives. Without an executive mandate or formal travel team, Diriberry was tasked with convincing BAT’s 18,000+ global travellers to adopt new booking practices and transition to a new TMC.
Celine Diriberry, British American Tobacco’s (BAT) global sourcing manager for travel, has been pivotal in consolidating the company’s vast and disparate global travel programme, spanning 89 markets. Faced with fragmented systems, limited resources, and no dedicated support team, Diriberry spearheaded a complex transformation that not only streamlined operations but also aligned with BAT’s broader corporate goals, including cost savings, efficiency improvements, and sustainability initiatives.
The RFP process, which spanned several months, involved securing buy-in from BAT’s board and travellers across its 89 markets. “I love a challenge, and I love to learn,” Diriberry said, reflecting on the experience. “What’s nice, after eight years at BAT, is seeing how we’ve transformed end-market engagement. That’s crucial when you don’t have an official sponsor or business owner.”
Her efforts focused on larger markets like Australia and the US, where BAT had longstanding relationships with local TMCs, as well as smaller markets that had previously operated outside of the company’s managed travel programme. To drive the company toward consolidation, Diriberry
enlisted cross-functional support from leaders in finance, legal, HR, security, and IT, communicating the broader benefits of a global travel programme. She also brought in external expertise from Francebased consulting firm Areka to help launch and manage the tender process.
Sustainability has become a central focus of BAT’s corporate strategy, and Diriberry made it a key component of the travel programme’s transformation. Despite business travel contributing less than 1% of BAT’s overall carbon emissions, the company has set an
ambitious target to reduce its travel footprint by 50% by 2030, compared to a 2020 baseline.
In 2023, Diriberry completed the Global Sustainable Tourism Council’s Sustainable Business Travel Course and used the knowledge gained to introduce sustainability criteria into BAT’s travel policies and sourcing strategies. For example, during the RFP process, Diriberry included clear sustainability-related questions for TMCs and airlines, scoring each provider based on their environmental commitments. “Celine was one of our first clients to include sustainability criteria in the airline sourcing process, with very closed questions,” said Aurelie Duprez,
founding partner at Areka. “She shared very transparently how each airline scored against its competitors, and this feedback was well received.”
BAT’s new TMC contract, awarded to FCM, reflects these sustainability goals. It includes a rollout of FCM Extension, which integrates sustainability-focused nudges across the six online booking tools that BAT uses globally. Additionally, browser popup messages remind employees of BAT’s duty of care principles and direct them to approved booking channels. “It’s not only about sustainability,” Diriberry explained. “It’s also about the safety and security of travellers.”
In markets where rail travel is a viable alternative to air travel, such as France and Belgium, local travel policies already recommend train over plane where possible. The introduction of FCM’s sustainability-focused technology will further encourage travellers to make greener choices by communicating CO2 emissions in a relatable way during the booking process.
Implementing such a large-scale transformation required significant change management, particularly in regions that were unfamiliar with BAT’s managed travel programme. Global implementation of the new TMC began in July 2024 and is expected to be completed by November, when the last of BAT’s 89 markets will onboard with FCM. As part of this process, 48 markets will adopt online booking tools, including 10 that are new to the global programme and 11 that previously lacked access to such tools.
To facilitate this transition, Diriberry developed educational materials and conducted online booking tool training sessions in each market. She also worked closely with local teams to launch promotional campaigns ahead of the go-live dates, ensuring that the new processes were clearly communicated and understood.
“The hardest part is change management,” Diriberry admitted. “In some countries, I’ve given them the shock of their lives.” In less mature markets, particularly across Africa, Asia, and the Pacific, where content from local vendors is still not accessible via global distribution system (GDS) channels, BAT’s travel booking will remain offline for now. “There’s no point deploying an online booking tool until the market matures,” she said.
In order to provide consistency for travel bookers, BAT has implemented Concur as the “master” system to create traveller profiles in 83 markets, allowing for smoother integration of the new TMC system and processes.
The new TMC contract is built around clear objectives, with regular key performance indicator (KPI) reviews designed to drive travel policy compliance and online booking tool adoption. Additionally, the contract includes a detailed service level agreement (SLA) that covers a wide range of performance metrics, from response times and reporting accuracy to cost-saving optimisation and technology innovation.
“Thirty-five percent of our SLA is focused on end-user satisfaction,” Diriberry said. “We’ve also included a commitment to deliver the SLA at the end-market level. So, even if the global SLA is achieved, if targets aren’t met locally, penalties will be incurred in those markets.”
Looking ahead, Diriberry is focused on refining BAT’s CO2 data and conducting a “deep dive” on key city pairs to formulate further emissions reduction strategies. “This has been part of the implementation, but until I’ve got everyone under one roof, I can’t connect all the dots,” she explained.
In addition to her sustainability efforts, Diriberry plans to launch a quarterly global travel newsletter and work with her new team of six regional travel managers to ensure they have the necessary operational support to drive policy compliance. “Because my day job is procurement, I’m not a travel manager,” Diriberry added, “but now I finally have a team to help drive the programme forward.”
The idea of the festival was born to economically relaunch the city of Marino. Ciprelli wanted to associate the most important and traditional facts that were related to the month of October and Marino: the grape harvest and wine, an important economic source of Marino
In 1571, the combined forces of Spain, the Papal States, Genoa, Venice, Savoy, and the Knights Hospitaller achieved a momentous victory over the Ottoman Empire at the Battle of Lepanto. The Christian commanders, led by John of Austria and Marcantonio Colonna, returned to their respective nations. Marcantonio, who ruled several Lazio fiefdoms including Marino, landed there with war relics taken from the Ottomans. He also brought with him the Standard of Lepanto, which depicted Our Lady of the Rosary.
Our Lady of the Rosary became the patron saint of the Papal States, and Pope Pius V decreed that her solemnity be celebrated on October 7 each year. This practice was embraced in Marino as well. The victorious commander’s entry into Marino took place on November 4, 1571, and his stay lasted until December 4, when he triumphantly entered Rome.
Fast forward to the present day, and the Marino Wine Festival continues to honour this historical connection. It takes place every first Sunday in October. The festival celebrates both the victory at Lepanto and the local Marino DOC wine.
The idea of making wine flow from the fountains of Marino was taken up by Leone Ciprelli from the ancient practice of using statues and fountains to pour wine during the festivals of the Colonna family who were famous for their excesses and the pomp of their parties. Then Leone Ciprelli restored, as mentioned, the use of the “fountains that give wine” and instituted the historical procession of the triumph of Marcantonio Colonna who, leaving Marino, goes to Rome to receive honours from the Pope, as he is represented in the palace of Paliano.
During the festival, the town comes alive with vibrant colours, music, and joy. Visitors can enjoy wine tastings, parades, and cultural events. The streets are adorned with grape vines, and locals and tourists alike gather to savour the delicious wines produced in the region.
The Marino Wine Festival, affectionately known as ‘a Sagra in the local Marino dialect, has a rich heritage. It was established in 1925 by poet Leone Ciprelli and has been celebrated annually ever since.
At around 5 PM, the main fountain flows with golden wine instead of water. Grapes and wine are freely distributed to the crowd. Tasting stands and open wine cellars offer more delights.
In 2008, a technical error led to water flowing instead of wine from the fountain. However, a nearby house unexpectedly had wine flowing from it’s kitchen tap, leading to cries of “Miracolo!”
So yes, during the Marino Wine Festival, the fountains indeed pour wine, creating a magical experience for all!
So, whether you’re a history enthusiast, a wine lover, or simply seeking a lively cultural experience, attending the Marino Wine Festival is a delightful way to immerse yourself in the heart of Italy’s traditions.

The exterior is embellished with stunning green glazed tiles. Inside, the interiors pay homage to contemporary design, enriched with artwork by local artists that lend the space its unique character. The incorporation of warm colours, cosy furniture, and deliberate décor merges work and leisure spaces, culminating in the bar area. Designed by O’Donnell O’Neill Design, it showcases burnt orange, handcrafted terracotta tiles and provides an extensive array of gins, locally crafted beers, biodynamic wines, and food.
Providing an ideal spot for business travellers as well as digital nomads to work or relax after a day of meetings or city exploration. A surprising feature is the small convenience store situated beyond the bar area, which stocks essentials ranging from fresh produce, micro herbs, wine to even dog treats.
The hotel boasts 106 apartments, featuring a diverse array of room types to accommodate various preferences. Options range from one-bedroom executive apartments to the Wilde Residence, which is a one-bedroom studio complete with a private balcony and terrace, suitable for both brief visits and longer-term accommodations.
We stayed in a studio apartment thoughtfully designed with attention to detail, boasting extra-large beds that were incredibly comfortable, and pillows that felt like clouds. The bathroom featured a rainfall shower and toiletries from the Hand Made Soap Company, which I’m pleased to report were not single-use. Lighting and blackout shutters were easily adjusted with touch control panels. Although the wardrobe was somewhat small, there was ample additional storage available under the bed.
The room was delightful, light, and airy, featuring ash wood and vibrant pops of colour from the artwork, throws, and scatter cushions. The kitchenette was a wonderful addition, complete with a Nespresso machine, Smeg kettle, toaster, and microwave, as well as fresh milk and
water in the fridge. An iron and ironing board were also provided. There is a laundry room in the basement and a well-equipped gym.
A standout feature was the staff’s demeanour; they were friendly, attentive and consistently prepared to assist with any inquiries or requests. The convenience of a 24-hour front desk was particularly appreciated, proving invaluable for latenight arrivals or early morning departures.
Breakfast is usually served in the bar area, but there is also the choice of having a breakfast basket delivered to your room. We opted for this and found a charming jute bag hanging on a hook outside our front door by 7am, filled with orange juice, a piece of fruit, and pastries.
Wilde Liverpool Street offers more than just accommodation; it’s an experience that we were delighted to have. Despite being newly opened, the establishment is impeccably clean, and I thoroughly inspected every nook and cranny!

Upon arrival, the hotel’s contemporary design immediately catches your eye, even if the colour scheme wasn’t to my liking. The property has clearly benefited from a recent multi-million-pound refurbishment, which is apparent from the sleek lobby to the stylishly decorated rooms.

demonstrated extensive knowledge of the local area. He was exactly the kind of person you’d want welcoming guests.
We received an upgrade to a club room, which featured a comfortable queen-size bed, luxurious pillows, blackout curtains, and a spacious bathroom with a bath and a separate shower cubicle. Large dispensers of body wash, shampoo, and conditioner were provided, replacing single-use toiletries. The décor was modern, characterized by a very neutral colour palette, with bursts of colour coming from abstract prints and patterned carpets.
Equipped with all the essentials required by a business traveller, the room includes a spacious desk with abundant lighting, USB charging points, and a 49” Samsung HDDX TV with streaming capabilities, complemented by complimentary highspeed Wi-Fi. Quiet-mode Daykin air conditioning units ensure comfort, while Bluetooth Door Key Access enhances security. Additional amenities include tea and coffee making facilities, as well as slippers and bathrobes.
The hotel’s leisure facilities feature an 18-yard swimming pool, an indoor hot tub, a sauna, and a steam room. There is a fully equipped gym, and the changing rooms are stocked with toiletries and hair dryers. Additionally, there are separate treatment rooms offering all the standard services one would anticipate. The Aqua Bar & Conservatory is an ideal spot for relaxing with a drink, featuring an outdoor terrace with views of the lake.
Additionally, a spacious conservatory adjoins both the bar and restaurant, providing a pleasant setting for drinks or breakfast. The Glaze Restaurant, which has earned an AA Rosette, serves a seasonal menu blending British and Indian cuisine. Our spa break included a three-course meal, and we appreciated the flexibility to combine items from different menus. The quality of the food was impressive, and the staff meticulously explained the spiciness levels of each dish.
The breakfast offered a buffet style selection, but there was also a menu available for ordering special dishes. The variety was extensive, featuring freshly prepared items that weren’t greasy, clearly labelled for allergens, and included a substantial range of gluten-free options.
We had a delightful stay and I must commend the entire staff. Not a single person was without a smile, and everyone was so helpful. Additionally, I would like to mention how immaculate the entire hotel was. Our room, in particular, was exceptionally clean; I commend the housekeeping staff as I could not find any dirt or dust, even though I searched thoroughly.

Irecently enjoyed a stay at the Agora Hotel in Pano Lefkara, Cyprus. Situated in a charming hilltop village famed for its lace-making and silverwork, this boutique hotel provides a distinctive mix of luxury, tranquillity, and cultural experience.
The property features 18 rooms, a bar, and a restaurant with Mediterranean influences, all realized by the vision of Creative Director and interior designer Emilie Green Novél, and co-owner and General Manager Aleksander Eng. Eng discovered the hotel while biking during a friend’s wedding and instantly recognized it as the ideal location.
The Agora Hotel is located in Pano Lefkara, a picturesque village known for its rich history that dates back to the 14th century. Famous for its traditional crafts and stunning stone houses, the village serves as a perfect starting point to discover the local culture and scenic beauty, with Larnaca being just a 30-minute drive away.
The village attracts tourists for day trips, yet staying a few days is highly recommended. The Agora Hotel serves as a perfect starting point for discovering the town and its surroundings. Visitors can admire charming stone houses with blue doors, a 14th-century church, and numerous traditional shops
where you can observe the art of lace-making while enjoying robust Cypriot coffee.
The Agora’s proprietors, Aleksander Eng and Emilie Green Novel, selected Lefkara for their hotel largely because of its closeness to the Cyprus mountains. These mountains provide superb cycling opportunities that appear to be nearly untouched. Cyclists can enjoy challenging mountain roads, tranquil pine forests, and meandering paths that ascend hills and cut through olive groves.
The hotel features 18 elegantly designed rooms, each thoughtfully adorned to reflect the local heritage while incorporating modern comforts. The rooms boast a palette of pale greens, pinks, and burnt oranges, complemented by wooden floors and velvet furnishings, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. All furnishings are hand-selected by the owners, adding a layer of sophistication and charm. The bathrooms are equipped with showers and FRAMA toiletries, while the larger suites feature a deep, freestand-
ing tub in the bedroom, discreetly separated by a wicker screen. Due to the courtyard-style layout of the hotel, there may be some noise at night from the restaurant’s music reaching the rooms, but it typically does not persist late into the night.
The Agora echoes the Soho House ethos, presenting itself as a trendy boutique hotel that draws in the ‘creative’ crowd. The library space promotes co-working, and guests can socialize around the pool, enjoying cocktails or coffee at the numerous tables provided.
The hotel was envisioned as a sanctuary for like-minded travelers seeking respite from the daily grind and a retreat for couples to enjoy undisturbed moments together. Despite its stylish and photogenic interiors, it’s not overrun by social media influencers; day visitors are prohibited, ensuring a tranquil atmosphere. Here, the ambiance is relaxed, with days filled with poolside lounging, backgammon games, and cocktail tasting.
Although the hotel’s central pool is small, it boasts a comfortable temperature—warm but not overly so—and is spacious enough to enjoy a refreshing dip.
The Green House Spa offers a range of treatments, including massages and reflexology. Additionally, yoga classes are held on the rooftop every morning, with the option for one-to-one sessions. The Agora is also known for regularly hosting wellness and craft workshops, along with trivia and movie nights.
Numerous trails are available for hiking in the nearby mountains, offering breath taking views of forests, olive groves, and hilltops. Additionally, Aleks is willing to guide cyclists through the mountainous terrain to discover biking paths or to impart his comprehensive understanding of the local cycling landscape.
The Agora Hotel is an excellent choice for business travelers, offering a harmonious balance of relaxation and productivity. Its tranquil setting, along with a commitment to wellness and reconnection, provides a peaceful escape from daily stress. The hotel features a co-working space and a friendly atmosphere that fosters networking and collaboration, making it a prime spot for ‘bleisure’—the blend of business and leisure.

Tucked away on the unspoiled island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas, The Potlatch Club stands as a luxury boutique hotel, carefully restored to its original splendour.
In 2016, Bruce Loshusan and Hans Febles discovered The Potlatch Club during a beach walk, unveiling not just a hidden treasure but also its storied history. The resort had deteriorated in the eighties and was overtaken by the jungle. However, recognizing its potential, Bruce and Hans purchased the 12acre property, which is adjacent to a pristine pink sand beach and a crystal-clear ocean.
The true narrative of The Potlatch Club was unveiled, established in 1967 by three socialites from the East Coast, Diana Adams, Elizabeth Fitzgerald, and Marie Driggs, who attracted royalty, celebrities, film stars, and musicians to the shores of Eleuthera.
During the 1960s and ‘70s, The Potlatch Club served as an exclusive private retreat
feast where possessions are given away or destroyed to display wealth and prestige. This ethos of opulence and generosity was the hallmark of the club during its heyday.
The club undertook a seven-year renovation, converting the neglected estate into a breath taking oceanfront retreat. Four of the estate’s original structures have been conserved and renovated, maintaining their historical allure while incorporating contemporary luxury.
The restoration began with the clearing of the jungle that had overtaken all 12 acres, determining which buildings could be salvaged and restored, and which were too far gone. Bruce and Hans then developed their masterplan and designed new structures to harmonize with the
villa—and Pink Sands Cottage, our exquisite honeymoon villa with ocean views.
The Sri-Lankan born architect, Ray James Holman Nathanials, introduced modernism to the Caribbean in the 1960s with these buildings, which have inspired the more recent additions overseen by Hans Febles. A hand-painted mural by Nathanials is preserved in the current staff quarters and is available for viewing upon request.
The glamour is enhanced by striped awnings, white walls, coral pink stone floors, and bathrooms, along with pastel hues, creating a relaxed yet upscale beach ambiance.
The Potlatch Club offers accommodations ranging from historic suites to new garden cottages, oceanfront cottages, and villas. Each space is meticulously adorned with designer furnishings, unique art, and opulent amenities. Select rooms boast private verandas or terraces, and some provide access to beachside pavilions or aromatic gardens.
for British royalty and celebrities such as Elizabeth Taylor, Raymond Burr, and Greta Garbo, who visited not only to unwind but also to celebrate. It even hosted Sir Paul McCartney’s honeymoon, during which he was inspired to write at least two Beatles songs on The Potlatch Club’s notepaper, including ‘Bathroom Window’ and ‘Oh! Darling (I’ll never do you no harm)’.
The Potlatch Club’s name is derived from a Northwest Native American ceremonial
landscape, taking care to remove as few mature trees as possible. The outcome is a stunningly exotic resort that appears to have been part of the scenery for decades.
The inaugural structure on the estate, built in 1923, was a modest two-bedroom house during the time the estate served as a pineapple plantation. Subsequent additions from 1947 to 1965 included several buildings, many of which have undergone restorations surpassing their original splendor. These include the Clubhouse, The Pineapple House—now a four-bedroom
The club’s amenities offer a complete luxury experience. Guests can indulge in the Fig Tree restaurant’s seasonal farm-to-table and sea-to-table organic dishes, unwind in the spa, swim in the pool, and work out in the gym. The Pavilion Bar is the perfect spot for savouring delicious cocktails while taking in the breath taking ocean and sunset views.
With so much space and so few guests, staying at The Potlatch Club has always felt like an exclusive private party and that sense of relaxing amongst friends continues to this day.

The global eco-tourism market is projected to grow from $210 billion in 2023 to $829 billion by 2035, highlighting the rising demand for holidays that respect both the environment and local communities.
Eco-friendly holidays, also known as responsible travel or green tourism, focus on reducing your carbon footprint while ensuring that destinations benefit from tourism without suffering from its downsides. Holidaying in the UK is a great way to start being more eco-conscious. Here’s how you can have a more sustainable holiday right here at home.
What is an eco-friendly holiday?
Eco-friendly holidays focus on respecting local landscapes, wildlife, and communities
while reducing your environmental impact. The goal is to leave a place as you found it, with only positive contributions left behind. Holidaying within the UK, rather than flying overseas, is an effective way to lower your carbon footprint while still enjoying a memorable vacation.
At Silverlake, Dorset, for example, all holiday homes are equipped with ecofriendly features, such as energy-efficient appliances and EV chargers. Repurposed from a former quarry, the estate is a haven for nature, reducing the negative impacts of tourism on surrounding towns.
Tips for a more eco-friendly UK holiday
1. Use public transport or drive electric where possible
While flying is the most obvious contributor to travel emissions, driving also adds to your carbon footprint. Whenever possible,
opt for public transport or drive an electric vehicle (EV) to cut down on fossil fuel use. For example, Silverlake, Dorset, is located just 1.5 miles from Moreton train station, making it accessible without the need for a car. Many holiday homes also offer EV charging points, so you can travel sustainably.
2. Buy locally where you can
Shopping locally helps reduce your environmental impact by cutting down on food miles, while also giving back to the local economy. Unnecessary food transportation accounts for 35% of the UK’s CO2 output. Instead of heading to large supermarkets, visit farm shops, farmers’ markets, and independent stores for fresh, highquality produce that gives you a true taste of the region.
3. Reduce single-use products
Small changes, such as using reusable bags, water bottles, and coffee cups, can make a big difference. With half of all plastic produced for single-use purposes, opting for reusable alternatives helps cut down on waste. Carry these items with you on holiday to minimise your environmental impact.
4. Recycle as much as you can
Ensure you recycle paper, glass, plastics, and other materials during your
holiday. Many accommodations offer clear instructions for recycling, so be sure to follow them. When you’re out and about, look for recycling bins or keep your waste until you return to your holiday home.
5. Eat at places that source food locally
Dining out is a holiday highlight, and eating at establishments that source food locally helps support the environment and local businesses. Independent pubs, cafes, and restaurants often prioritise locally sourced ingredients, providing fresh, seasonal meals. Silverlake’s Hurricane Terrace and Bar offers snacks and drinks made with locally sourced ingredients, giving you a delicious and sustainable dining experience.
6. Choose eco-friendly holiday activities
There are plenty of ways to explore the local area without increasing your carbon footprint. Walking, cycling, and nonmotorised watersports are excellent lowimpact activities. At Silverlake, Dorset, guests can enjoy yoga, nature walks, bike hire, and paddleboarding, all within the eco-conscious estate.
7. Stay somewhere that cares for local wildlife
Opt for destinations that protect and preserve local wildlife habitats. Silverlake, Dorset, features hundreds of acres of nature reserve, home to species such as otters, deer, and over 150 bird species. The estate offers wildlife walks and events to educate visitors about the local environment, ensuring that nature is respected.
8. Stay in an eco-friendly holiday home
An eco-friendly holiday home reduces your environmental footprint through features such as air-source heat pumps, solar panels, and energy-efficient appliances. Silverlake, Dorset, is a prime example, with eco-homes designed to minimise their impact on the surrounding area. By choosing such accommodations, you can enjoy a luxurious holiday while feeling confident that you are contributing to sustainability.
Choosing to holiday sustainably allows you to experience the beauty of the UK while protecting the environment. Whether it’s by shopping locally, reducing waste, or staying in eco-friendly accommodations, every small step makes a difference. Silverlake, Dorset, offers the perfect blend of eco-conscious living and unforgettable experiences, all while working towards becoming carbon-neutral by 2030.
For those looking to make sustainable holidaying a regular part of their lives, Silverlake also offers holiday home plots for sale, so you can create your own ecofriendly retreat and enjoy nature yearround.

Bark Air, the pioneering airline created for dogs and their human companions, has launched with the aim of transforming pet travel. Founded by Matt Meeker, inspired by his journeys with his beloved Great Dane, Hugo, Bark Air is set to change the way pets fly.
Bark Air was founded to address the difficulties pet owners encounter while traveling with their pets. Conventional airlines typically confine dogs to cargo areas or small under-seat carriers, causing stress for both animals and their owners. Bark Air provides a “white paw experience,” treating all dogs as VIPs from the moment of booking until they disembark, ensuring a first-class service.
Travelers on Bark Air are treated to a luxurious and serene experience. The airline utilizes Gulfstream G5 jets, providing generous space for both dogs and their owners to unwind. The cabins offer relaxation aids such as blankets infused with pheromones, tranquil music, and towels scented with lavender.
Offering a selection of beverages for your dogs, including bone broth served during takeoff and landing to alleviate ear discomfort, and of course, their own BARK-branded treats and snacks throughout the flight.
The cost of this exclusive service reflects the premium experience, with one-way tickets around $6,000 for a dog and their human companion. This may sound expensive but includes all amenities, pampering and comfort for you and your canine companion.
Bark Air currently operates flights from New York to Los Angeles and London, with expansion plans to include cities such as Paris, Chicago, and Miami. They are
fully focused on pet comfort and human convenience, making them an attractive choice for owners who wish to travel with their pets, whether for leisure or business, without compromising their dogs’ well-being.
Bark Air is not just an airline; it’s a statement that dogs deserve the same level of care and comfort as humans when traveling. With its dog-first approach, Bark Air is setting a new standard in the aviation industry, one that is sure to be welcomed by pet lovers worldwide.
For those who consider their pets as family, Bark Air offers an unparalleled travel experience that is worth every penny.
