The Canopy Terraces are distinguished by a vertical feature wall between the terraces that folds at the top to become a canopied roofline expressing each individual dwelling. This treatment is repeated at the entries where a high canopy above the front door expresses the double storey entry, provides weather protection and creates an entry space that is private and separate from the adjacent front room. The material palette of rendered and face brickwork provides a solid and grounded appearance with highlight materials used at the roofline and the front garden fence. Awnings and pergolas for sunshading above the windows and sliding doors provides a finer level of detail and animation to the facades.



Terrace Elevation Treatment 2 steppe TERRACES steppe; meaning: Prairieland [noun]: vast plain.

The Steppe Terraces are distinguished by the creative composition of materials and architectural forms. Each terrace features a vertical white framed element separating the entry area from the remainder of the terrace. Within these frames, at the upper level, are glazed windows that are treated like Juliet balconies with balustrades for safety and privacy. The entry itself is distinguished by feature cladding and a canopy above the entry door in a strong vertical expression. At the ground level a horizontal plain of face brickwork runs across the width of the terrace emphasising its broad width. The material palette of rendered and face brickwork provides a solid and grounded appearance with highlight materials used above the entry door and in the front garden fence. Awnings and pergolas above the windows and sliding doors, and the treatment of the Juliet balcony windows, provides sunshading, weather protection and privacy to the terraces.

The Savannah Terraces are contemporary and sophisticated. The strong vertical expression organises the materials into tall elements that give the terraces an imposing presence. The entries are distinguished by a vertical, white framed, element that emphasises the double height entry volume and provides separation from the adjacent front room. Highlight materials and glazing are composed into an adjacent darker strip that compliments and contrasts the white framed element and face brickwork. The material palette of rendered and face brickwork provides a solid and grounded appearance with highlight materials used at the second storey with the glazing to provide a contrasting vertical element. Awnings and pergolas for sun-shading above the windows and sliding doors provide a finer level of detail and animation to the facades.
