SYDNEY METRO NORTHWEST PROJECT OVERVIEW Sydney Metro is Australia’s largest public transport infrastructure project. Sydney Metro Northwest, formerly the North West Rail Link, is the first stage of Sydney Metro. Sydney Metro Northwest will be the first fully-automated metro rail system in Australia. It is on track to open to customers in the first half of 2019. Trains will operate every four minutes in the peak with at least 15 trains an hour. Customers won’t need a timetable, you’ll just turn up and go. Over the coming decades, an extra 200,000 people will move into Sydney’s North West, taking its population above 600,000, or twice the size of Canberra.

Cudgegong Road Station: located approximately 300m from Parkland Estate In the heart of the North West Growth Centre, the new Cudgegong Road Station will become the transport hub for booming residential growth at places like The Ponds and western parts of Rouse Hill. The station is the last one along the Sydney metro Northwest alignment, however the NSW Government has secured a transport corridor west into Marsden Park to ensure future growth can be catered for when the time comes. The station entrance and concourse will be located at street level on the northern side, establishing a public forecourt for a future village centre. The platform will be approximately six metres below street level. The station design includes safeguarding for a future additional island platform for turn back of extra trains and/or the extension of the railway beyond its present limit.
