“The day of the jump was beautiful, and as the plane climbed to 15,000 feet, that familiar feeling was there. I was nervous, but I tried not to show it. I had my “brave face” on... I won’t say the jump cured my fear of high places,

Live and learn together
One of the hallmark Capstone experiences is identifying a personal challenge and then addressing it with a plan. Capstone faculty principal Patrick Hickey encourages students with his inspiring example — He faced his fear of heights by climbing the highest mountain on each of the seven continents! Your own challenge may be more down to earth, but the main point is to push yourself to new levels of confidence, competence and well-being, and to shape yourself as a leader.
You’ll live and learn alongside fellow Scholars, enjoying many group events on-site, as well as in the Carolina and Columbia community. Gibbes, a bistro in Capstone House, offers a regular chance to network with faculty and staff over lunch every Wednesday. And you’ll enjoy the very popular Hot Cookie Fridays at the Study Shack, located above the Capstone administrative offices. Here, you’ll find a wide-screen TV, games and more. Many Capstone social events take place here.
