DOLE-13 RELEASE CASH AID TO “ODETTE” VICTIMS

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Caraga released over PhP34.2 million cash assistance from December 21, 2021, to January 7, 2022 under the agency’s Tulong sa Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/ Displaced Workers (TUPAD) cash-for-work program for typhoonaffected individuals.

Some 10,702 individuals in the region received the cash aid, with 6,141 recipients from Surigao del Norte and 3,112 recipients from Dinagat Islands. These provinces were among the areas most devastated by Typhoon “Odette”.

The salaries of beneficiaries for the emergency work were based on the prevailing minimum daily wage of P320 per day plus personal accident insurance. Jobs include house cleaning, declogging of canals, debris, segregation, material recovery, stockpiling, and road cleaning.
