The Caraga cops arrested a tourist guide and seized P10,000 worth of cocaine following a buy-bust operation in Siargao Island on July 14, 2020.

Police Brigadier General Joselito Esquivel Jr., regional director of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Caraga, identified the drug suspect as Karl Remlie Lozada Subayno also known as “Remlie,” 32 years old, a tourist guide, and a resident of launched a joint operation to capture Barangay 3 Poblacion, General Luna, Surigao del Norte.

The buy-bust operation was conducted around 12:03 a.m. in Brgy. 3 Poblacion after the personnel of General Luna Municipal Police Station

received a report that a certain tourist guide is involved in drug peddling in the area.

Investigation disclosed that Remlie is a newly identified illegal drug personality and considered as a street-level individual (SLI).

The operating personnel confiscated one sachet of suspected cocaine weighing one gram with a market value of P10,000; one genuine one thousand peso bill as marked money and ten boodle money; one Huawei black cellphone; one lighter; and a cash amounting to P4,845 in different denominations. A case for violation of Section 5 and Article II of the R.A. 9165 also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 was being prepared for filing in court against the arrested drug suspect.
