PNP AGSUR CHIEF LEAVES HIGH-TIME ACCOMPLISHMENTS

With high-time accomplishments, Police Colonel Ringo Zarzoso handed over the leadership of Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office (ADSPPO) to the incoming Provincial Director PCol. Ruben Delos Santos in a ceremonial turn-over on Monday, July 26 in Patinay, Prosperidad town of Agusan del Sur. Police Brigadier General Romeo Caramat Jr., Police Regional Office (PRO)13 Director administered the turnover of command.

Also present during the activity were: Governor Santiago B. Cane, Jr., 401st Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Allan B. Hambala; municipal mayors; other local officials of Agusan del Sur; members of the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1997; chiefs of police; and other unit commanders.

PCol. Zarzoso will assume post as the Chief of the Regional Community Affairs Development Division (RCADD) at the headquarters of PRO13. During his time, a total of 190 individuals were

arrested from 196 antiillegal drug operations in the province that yielded to the confiscation of 470.28 grams of shabu and 309, 120.2 grams of marijuana with the total worth of Php9,158,840.00.

Two of the biggest drug operations were the uprooting of Marijuana plants with total Dangerous Drug Board value of Php2,798,000.00 in Brgy. Kasapa 1, La Paz town on May 8, 2020; and in Brgy. Kasapa 2, Loreto on July 20, 2020.

In the relentless drive against individuals sought by the law, ADSPPO operatives arrested 1,094 wanted persons; 275 most wanted persons; 854 violators of illegal gambling; and 174 for possession of loose firearms with a total of 1,218 confiscated, recovered and surrendered firearms.

In addition, index crimes or those crimes against persons and property, have significantly reduced from 1,236 (August 1, 2016 to July 25, 2019) to 531 (August 1, 2019 to July 25, 2021). Murder cases dropped by 55% from 313 to 140 based on the comparative data in the same period.

On the other hand, PCol. Delos Santos the erstwhile chief of RCADD, accepted the responsibilities together with his strategic plans and programs to keep the substantial gains.

Aside from expressing his trust and confidence to the new Provincial Director, PBGen. Caramat also reiterated the directives of the PNP Chief Police General Guillermo Lorenz Eelazar.

“Let us conduct more intensified efforts against criminality, terrorism; and COVID-19. We need true and dedicated cops who despite the challenges of the pandemic and the risks inherent to being law enforcers, continue to carry out the mandate with highest degree of excellence and integrity,” PBGen.
