This, as reported by Municipal Mayor Hazel Elizalde during her guesting at the Network Briefing News (NBN) on Monday, May 31, 2021, with Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Sec. Martin Andanar.

“Base po mismo sa aming mga health workers, ang mga mamamayan ng San Miguel ay talagang interesado sa pagbabakuna. Mayroon nga pong iba na gusting-gusto nang magpavaccine lalo na may local transmission na po dito sa amin,” the lady mayor added.

On May 17, 2021, the Department of Health (DOH) Caraga confirmed local transmission of COVID-19 in the municipality, with Barangays Patong and Poblacion pinpointed as areas with high cases of local transmission.

Meanwhile, Mayor Elizalde said the local government unit is done with the vaccination of the A1 (healthcare workers) and is now working on vaccinating the A2 (senior citizens) and the A3 (persons with co-morbidities) priority groups.

“So ngayon po, naghihintay na lamang po kami sa DOH na makapadala ulit ng supply ng bakuna,” she added.

As of writing, a total of 1,452 have been vaccinated in the municipality of San Miguel, 724 belong to the A1; 553 from the A2; and 175 from the A3 priority group. (DMNR/ PIA-Caraga)
