POPCOM INKS MOU FOR GOVERNMENT-LED PARTNERSHIP FOR HUNGER

The Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) joins in strengthening the campaign against poverty and hunger and signed the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) Regional Memorandum last Tuesday, November 16, 2021.

The POPCOM aims to provide technical support to EPAHP by providing various capacity-building interventions to combat prevalent poverty and hunger in the region.

With the presence of hunger czar Cabinet Secretary Karlo Alexander Nograles, POPCOM signed the MOU with the following line agencies: - Department of Agrarian Reform - Department of Agriculture ·- Bureau of Jail Management and Penology ·- National Nutrition Council - National Irrigation Administration ·- Technical Education and Skills Development Authority ·- Department of Interior and Local Government ·- Department of Education ·- Department of Trade and Industry ·- Land Bank of Philippines ·- Department of Science and Technology ·- Department of Health

Regional director Alexander Makinano of POPCOM-Caraga has also committed to a full and intensified implementation of the National Program on Population and Family Planning towards better health, health and education outcomes, socioeconomic development, and poverty reduction.
