CARDIFF CITY FC SLO: Supporter Liaison Officer In line with UEFA regulations, Cardiff City Sales and Marketing Manager Tom Gorringe has been appointed as the club’s new Supporters’ Liaison Officer. The SLO will act as a point of contact for fans; liaise with the club’s management on the issues raised and responsible for delivering the club’s policy to supporters. Alongside his work in the commercial department, Tom’s role will be to administer queries from fans regarding all aspects of the club including the match-day experience and quality of service given by all club touch points. Tom can be contacted via email on tom@Cardiffcityfc.co.uk Twitter: @thgorringe

14

Supporter Liaison Volunteers plan of action With a view to improving the fan experience both home and away, we will be looking to bring in a team of Supporter Liaison Volunteers (SLVs) to report back any issues that would normally go unnoticed on a match day. On match day, the group of SLV’s will be looking for any issues or concerns within their designated area on the day which they can then look to assist people with. Post-match all SLV’s will be required to submit a report outlining what happened within their stand. Anything that requires action will then be dealt with in association with our safety and security team. This role is completely voluntary, with candidates ideally being season ticket holders with a passion for improving the customer experience. Once the team has been assembled we will be looking to arrange regular meetings to discuss any issues and gauge progress. If you would like to become part of the SLV team or for more information, please e-mail Tom: tom@cardiffcityfc.co.uk

Cardiff City currently play at the Cardiff City Stadium, after moving from the clubs former ground, Ninian Park, which was home to the Bluebirds for nearly a century (1910-2009). After having to wait 51 years, the team finally returned to the English top flight having won The Championship last season, which ended City’s 10 year stay in the second tier of English football. In the last 3 decades, each year ending in ‘3’ has seen the club achieve promotion. The run started in 1983 with promotion from Division 3 by finishing runners up. In 1993, following the formation of the Premier League, Cardiff City were winners of Division 3 (the fourth tier of the league system) and in 2003 we won promotion from the second division (the third tier of the league system), this time via the play-offs. Then most recently, City gained promotion to the top flight after years of waiting, by winning the Championship in 2013. For more information please see: www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/club/history/
