Story Book Characters Hit children’s TV series characters Paw Patrol and Elmer the Patchwork Elephant will be at a world record attempt in Motorpoint Arena Cardiff on July 7 . Welsh charity Hybu, is staging the event to entertain youngsters and raise funds. It is looking for 2,000 children, and their families to help them break the world record for the number of people in the same place dressed as characters from an illustrated children’s storybook. There will be themed storybook rooms, fun games for youngsters, and the chance to buy new books. Charity founder Gill James said: “It will be an excellent day and we’re asking people to come as their favourite character from an illustrated storybook, plus the book which inspired them, the record attempt will be invigilated by the Guinness Book of World Records” Tickets are priced at £5 or £17.50 for a family ticket for four people – one of whom must be aged under 16. It is advisable to purchase tickets before the day of the event which will be staged between 12.30pm and 4.30pm, with the count starting at 2.30pm. Llandegfedd Visitor and Water Sport Centre Escape the relentless pace of modern life at Llandegfedd with over 400 acres of water, woodlands and grasslands to explore. Techniquest - Summer Camps Techniquest’s Summer Camps give children the opportunity to get hands-on with a range of activities, from rockets to robots and from plants to puzzles. You can book any combination of dates for your budding scientists — it’s up to you! Monday: Mission Mars Our recruits will experience all things space, they’ll learn all about rockets and how we’re exploring our solar system. Tuesday: Wonderful world Our campers will find out about plants and animals as well as food in the future, and how our world is changing. Wednesday: Spill your guts Campers will take a trip inside the human body to take a closer look at our amazing insides, from the fascinating to the downright disgusting! Thursday: Runaway robots Campers will use LEGO® building kits to get creative and make a host of robots and machines. Friday: Science sleuths There’s been a crime at Techniquest! We’ll need our campers to help solve the mystery with all their science know-how. Summer Camps are on weekdays from 13 to 31 August, for ages 7 to 11.
