Mental health

Having good mental health helps us relax more, achieve more, and enjoy our lives more. There are simple things we can all do to look after our mental health and wellbeing. On the ‘Every Mind Matters’ website, you can get a free, tailor-made plan designed to help you feel more in control, deal with stress and anxiety, boost your mood, and improve your sleep. Build your plan here

There are also lots of helpful tips and organisations to support people with their mental health. You can find out more at www.bewellcambridgeshire.co.uk (search ‘mental health and wellbeing’).

How Are You (H.A.Y.) Cambridgeshire & Peterborough is a group of digital spaces that bring together everything in the local community that boosts mental wellbeing. You can find out more and find a link to your local services at

www.haycambspboro.co.uk

There is also some useful information on the MIND website (www.mind.org.uk ) about the Five Ways to Wellbeing. The Five Ways to Wellbeing are things you can do to help you feel more positive about your life. • Connect – with the people around you and make time for family and friends. • Be active – go for a run, take the dog for a walk, play five-a-side sport, cycle to work, or sign up for a dance class. Whatever it is, make sure it is something you enjoy. • Take notice – be aware of the world around you and how you are feeling. Reflecting on your experiences will help you appreciate what matters to you. • Keep learning – whether it’s learning how to cook your favourite food, a new language, or taking up a new sport or hobby, it’s all good for your mind. • Give – do something nice for a friend or a stranger. Thank someone. Smile. Volunteer your time; it can be incredibly rewarding.
