Some libraries hold dementia events and drop-ins where you can receive advice and those who have dementia can attend a group. Hampshire libraries also raise awareness by organising specific training sessions for staff; many have now become Dementia Friends and can be identified by a Dementia Friends badge. Finally, the free Home Library Service helps those who can’t access the library due to ill-health, disability or caring responsibilities. The service arranges for library books, audiobooks and playaways to be delivered to you or a loved one’s home regularly by our volunteers. Books are available in standard, large print and audio book formats. If you would like to borrow a particular title from Hampshire’s stock, the Home Library Service can get it for you.

Ask about the Home Library Service at your local library, call HantsDirect on 0300 555 1387, or fill in the Home Library Service form at www.hants.
