Age Concern Southend is a local, independent charity. It’s located in the Haven Community Hub in Westcliff, which is a community space for everyone – old and young. The charity also has a day service ‘Days at the Haven’ where it cares for people with any neurological disorders. Phone support

Dementia advisers will listen and provide the support and advice you need, including help in your area and online information. Dementia Connect offers regular calls. The support line is open from Monday to Wednesday, 9.00am to 8.00pm; Thursday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm; and Saturday to Sunday, 10.00am to 4.00pm.

Online support

Dementia Connect online support is available round the clock through Alzheimer’s Society’s website. Answer a few simple questions about yourself, or someone you know, to get personalised and relevant information and advice. Online support includes Talking Point, an online community where you can chat to others in a similar situation, and a dementia directory for local services.

Face-to to-face support

Local dementia advisers can meet you to offer further support, advice and information face to face, from someone who understands what you’re going through. They will also connect you to other face-to-face services in your area, including local support groups.
