The make-up and duties of the Home Care & Assisted Living Program Advisory Council was modified to better represent licensed assisted living.

Summary

Council make-up: • Public members went from three to two (representing persons who are currently or have recently received (or their family member) home care services • Home care representatives went from three to two • The Office of Ombudsman for Mental Health & Developmental Disabilities was given one seat Two seats representing licensed assisted living were added (LALD, managerial official, clinical nurse supervisor) • One seat for an organization representing long-term care providers was added • One seat for a person who is or has received assisted living services was added • One seat for a person who has or had a family member in an assisted living facility setting was added

Council duties: • Licensed assisted living advice was added

Implications

This council will have more focus on assisted living issues and less on home care issues.
