Boating Responsibly!
BOATING RESPONSIBLY!
Responsible boating is a major component of work in commercial fishing and enjoyment in recreational fishing. By adopting simple practices, we can navigate responsibly:
Watch your speed, particularly in shallow waters.
Do not discharge used water or polluting products into the sea.
Provide maintenance your boat frequently. This will prevent toxic substances from contaminating the sea.
Always have your safety equipment ready (e g life jacket, whistle, navigation lights, fire extinguisher, emergency positionindicating radio beacon (EPIRB)).
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
Check the weather conditions before going sailing.
Deposit your garbage in a container or bag, not in the sea.
Prevent your fishing equipment from drifting in the sea (e.g. do not leave fishing line in the water).
Protect marine life; keep distance between your boat and animals such as marine mammals (e.g. manatees, whales), among others.
