PETIT ST VINCENT
ST. VINCENT & THE GRENADINES
Forget about your work emails, your fitness apps and your social media feeds. Switch off your phone, find yourself a hammock and enjoy the novelty of a world without WiFi. Petit St Vincent is a place where the modern world recedes into the distance, an exclusive private island where everything is geared towards splendid isolation. Ok, so it’s not completely without WiFi - you can check your emails at reception if you really must - but you’ll find no TV and no internet connection in the 22 stylishly appointed cottages. Petit St Vincent is all about disconnecting and spending quality time together, with a barefoot luxury vibe that our clients find irresistible. The island is encircled by two miles of soft white sand, and accommodation is situated either down on the beach or on a hillside with amazing ocean views. Your cottage has a simple yet ingenious flag system - yellow for service, red to be left alone - and you can enjoy meals served in the privacy of your room if you’d rather not venture out. In fact you can have food and drinks delivered to just about anywhere on the island - a cocktail to cool you down while you’re laid in your favourite hammock, perhaps, or a romantic dinner at the end of a jetty. For something extra special, why not take a boat trip out to a deserted sand bank and enjoy a castaway picnic for two. Petit St Vincent is a private and low-key place, and you may well find that the only time you see your fellow guests is at dinner. There are two excellent restaurants: the Main Pavilion is slightly more formal, while the thatched-roof Beach Restaurant & Bar is a casual, feet-in-the-sand kind of place. Menus focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and the wine cellar is stocked with over 6,000 vintages. If you can bear to part with the beach for a few hours, then make sure you book yourself in for an open-air treatment at the Balinesestyle hillside spa. There are also yoga classes twice a week overlooking Conch Bay, a fitness trail that weaves between beachfront and woodland, and a great selection of watersports, including sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, deep sea fishing, snorkelling and a Jean-Michel Cousteau Dive Centre.
