ACCOMMODATION: There are 217 rooms and suites at Pine Cliffs Hotel, plus 148 Ocean Suites, 154 suites at the Pine Cliffs Residence and various accommodation options at Pine Cliffs Village. The hotel offers two different types of accommodation, decorated with traditional Portuguese tiles. The Ocean Suites are modern and minimalist, with floor-to-ceiling windows and stunning bathrooms with an egg-shaped bath and rain shower. The larger suites have a kitchen and dining area, and the lavish Presidential Suite opens onto a furnished terrace with a private Jacuzzi. The Two and Three Bedroom Suites of the Pine Cliffs Residence are ideal for those seeking a more private family retreat, while Pine Cliffs Village offers a range of options including townhouses, villas and golf suites.
RESTAURANTS & BARS: Pine Cliffs offers a staggering amount of choice, with nine restaurants and two bars. Highlights include the superb steaks of Piri Piri, O Pescador’s locally-caught seafood, and the Japanese restaurant, Yakuza by Olivier. There is also a different themed buffet each day at the Jardim Colonial and O Grill, drinks and light bites down at the beach restaurant Maré at Pine Cliffs, and healthy veggie and organic options at Zest, which is located on the ground floor of the Ocean Suites. The clifftop Mirador Champagne Bar is a fantastically-indulgent spot for stunning sunsets, and the Club House offers all-day dining overlooking the golf course.
FACILITIES: The superb facilities include seven outdoor and one indoor pool, a fitness centre, ninehole golf course and the amazing Serenity Spa, which includes a herbal and Himalayan salt sauna, hydro pool, steam bath, kneipp pool and even children’s spa treatments. The Annabel Croft Tennis Academy has five floodlit and one padel court, and runs various coaching programmes and tournaments. Adrenaline junkies can get their fill with watersports including jetskiing, waterskiing, wakeboarding and paddleboarding, available on the beach at an additional charge. The Porta Pirata Children’s Village is a brilliant pirate ship-themed playground for kids aged 6 mths-8 yrs, with activities including mini golf and treasure hunts, and there is also a kids’ pool. The Junior Club for 8-12 yrs offers football, archery, darts and more.
