Manly Man of the Manly Mountain

Theme: Triumph through struggle
I had just arrived at my destination. Over gurgling streams and scraggily rocks. Along the rough trail we had journeyed to the summit. We had seen snakes sunbathing on heatemanating rocks. The lizards were doing push-ups on oak trees upside down. Feeling like a rebel pack mule, I push on ahead to the front of our expedition. I wanted to prove that I was just as good as my dad and my siblings. I hurried my pace and walked on the outside to pass everyone. The golden brown grass cracked and snapped as I trotted ahead. Our whole group slowed as we hit the uphills. It was slow going until the beaten ground leveled off. We could see the top of the mountain. We finally got to the summit. I felt a great sense of achievement because I
had reached the top first. I had just arrived at my destination.
