Brand Design: The Grocer’s Pantry

The Grocer’s Pantry is a grocery delivery service working in partnership with AgeAction, a registered organisation for all senior citizens in Ireland. With more than 25% of the elderly unable to purchase staples for themselves, The Grocer’s Pantry will provide them with a means to shop safely and conveniently. It also aims to provide the elderly with a platform that, enables them to build meaningful and trusting relationships with their buyers. AgeAction is there to screen each Shopper to ensure that the elderly are in safe, trusting hands. The Grocer’s Pantry is needed as loneliness amongst the elderly community has become a frequent problem in Ireland, as indicated by our overdue e orts to tackle this problem compared to other EU countries.

A simple, and user-friendly approach to illustration were necessary for viewers to quickly identify what the service is for while expressing a safe, and comforting visual identity. A softer colour palette was chosen to further enhance the experience for older users with the app, website, and poster set. As rich, bold, and contrasting colours are much harsher on the elderly.

Newspaper Design: Dangerous Ideas

‘Dangerous Ideas’ was my submission for the International Society of Typographic Designers in 2021. This newspaper explores how order can be celebrated by comparing the damaging e ects that conspiracy theory can have on our society. Two examples include Andrew Wake eld’s claim that the vaccine can cause autism in children and the American far-right political conspiracy theories of QAnon. I used italicised text and diagonal lines to communicate the skewed ideas behind conspiracy theories. I broke large paragraphs with quotes to convey a disruption in a system, which, conspiracy does in our society. I was inspired by the imagery to which conspiracy is linked - such as a static green colour style and eyes.

This newspaper aimed to inform the public about the psychology of superstition and conspiracy as well as recent news regarding these practices in real life.

Rebrand: iameco

Iameco is the world’s rst ecologically sustainable and high-performing computer. For this project I had the pleasant opportunity to rebrand the company. Our clients discussed with us the importance of highlighting the computer's modularity in our messaging.

I chose the font Pressio No.34 font as it is a bold font; which is perfect for making a statement. For the secondary font, I chose Ballinger because it is perfect for longer text and works well both on screen and in print. To match Pressio’s bold voice, I also chose a bright and strong neon colour palette for an eye-catching e ect. When producing illustrations, I opted for a digital woodgrain e ect to illustrate the intersection of the technological world and the natural world, which is an integral part of iameco’s identity as a company. This style also brings an electrifying visual language alongside our chosen colour scheme. “Built for change”, was the new motto suggestion for iameco, as it talks about how the company seeks to change the technology industry, how it is manufactured, and how it impacts the environment. I am very grateful that this rebrand was awarded as the winner.

Speculative: Tailor

The year is 2065, the world has changed immensely which includes the fashion industry. This was a research-based design project as me and my design group had to immerse ourselves in the ‘future’. We began with closing a problem that we face in this current time (2021) and tried to nd a ‘solution’ to x it or slow down its damaging e ects. What we came up with was a service that allows people to download their clothing using biomimicry technology.

High fashion, low maintainance. tailor clothing is water resistant, which means a powder wash once a week will do the trick.
