Carla Besora Portfolio

Hello, My name is Carla Besora, and I work and live as an illustrator in Barcelona. I lived most of my life in Cardedeu, a little town near the mediterranean sea. I’m interested in human relations, the balance between struggle and pleasure and poetics in everyday life. I’ve studied graphic design and illustration in Barcelona and Ghent (Belgium). Professionally I mainly worked in projects aimed to children. I also illustrated theatre texts, literature and poetry on my personal work. I’m part of the illustration collective Tropèl, with who I’m starting a publishing project. This portfolio contains sample images of some of the latest projects I worked in, classified between children’s illustration and personal work.

Personal projects

Le cerf se voyant dans l’eau Little handprinted book based in a fable from La Fontaine. Its moral was used as a way to describe the focus on my work. Self Published | September 2011

Woyzeck & Marie Visual interpretation of George Bßchner’s theatre text Woyzeck. The images are based on the feelings that appear on the story, using them as a guiding thread to narrate. The story can be read in two different orders, each one based in each of the main characters. Self-publised black&white version | April 2011
