Dubai To Transform Taxi Services With Artificial Intelligence With the world spinning around and talking about the ongoing digital revolution, Dubai is paving its way ahead of everyone. The rest of the world is busy discussing rules and regulations regarding autonomous vehicles, Dubai is now powering them.
Dubai is driving the UAE’s strong push towards autonomous
vehicles as the government plans to make 25% of the transportation completely autonomous by 2030. They are focusing on environmental efficiency and improvements which is set to generate Dh22 billion activity every year.

Its recent attempts, the Dubai Taxi Corporation has launched a new control center alongside reviewing the city’s smart transformation plan. This new control center will monitor fatalistic practices of offensive drivers, track bus movements, attendance, and dispersal of school students and bust conductors and also control the fleet. The authorities have also quipped taxis with street monitoring cameras which keeps a track of activities on streets and help civic bodies to collect data for efficient town planning.

The new control center at Dubai has been equipped with the latest next-gen technologies for operating and monitoring the taxi services. The center also helps to measure the daily efficiency of vehicle movements and the Dubai Taxi Corporations’ Smart Transformation Plan (2018-20) is based on three pillars: Clients, Drivers, and Employees. Towards the client's’ side, the DTC has achieved 20 out of 36 projects designed for consumers to improve services.

The school buses were fit with tracking devices for monitoring bus routes and students for enhanced security. Towards the drivers, DTC has automated about 38 out of 61 services. The center has launched a drivers’ stress measurement system which is operated via a camera fixed in the interior of the taxi focussing on the driver’s face. It monitors the driver’s motion and condition to detect signs of fatigue or send an automated alert during emergency conditions.

This assures the safety of the driver as well as of the rider. For the employees, the DTC has completed its taxi smart technical testing system. This system reduces the time which is taken to test taxis form 40 minutes to just 4 minutes. This has also helped to enhance productivity by cutting short on the number of required testing supervisors.

In the coming years, the DTC is also planning to integrate artificial intelligence in airport servicing taxis, enabling smart booking, smart chat, digital ads which will be useful for both the riders, employees, and drivers. The taxis in Dubai have been enhanced with many technologies over the recent years,

which has helped the nation creating a name for itself as a technology leader. We can soon expect to see taxi-drones in Dubai anytime soon where the model will be operated from a remote control center through 4G networks. The city of Dubai is a pioneer in the testing of new technologies.
