OUR STORY
In the sunny hills of Abruzzo, Italy, over 500 years ago, the Carlino Family cultivated the finest fruits and vegetables and raised the healthiest game and livestock on their family farm. Many of Carlino’s old-world recipes developed in those small Abruzzese kitchens have become staples in both locations. What began as a tiny pipe dream became Nicola and Angela Carlino’s reality. In the early 1900s, Grandfather Carmine came to America. His family later followed him, including his daughter-in-law, Angela Carlino, known and remembered as the beloved Mama Carlino.
Mama had always loved cooking and baking. She found the kitchen a place of solace and peace, and it was also a way to share her love of food with those around her. She began baking various Italian cookies and pastries, later pasta and sauce, and selling them to people out of her home until she and her husband,
Nicola, garnered enough money to open a tiny store on E. County Line Road in 1983. The tiny store that began as a place for Mama to share her love of food has become one of the most well-known artisanal food stores in the Philadelphia area. Today, Carlino’s is in its third generation of leadership
and has two locations, in Ardmore and West Chester, PA. Carlino’s mission from its conception has been to create the feeling of walking into Mama’s kitchen and experiencing old-world techniques, treasured family recipes, and utilizing the finest ingredients.

Carlino’s artisan pasta is made by the family’s hometown pasta producer, located in the heart of the mountains in Abruzzo, Italy. The Abruzzese pasta factory uses a water mill in the mountains that feeds directly into the factory. This direct source of mountain water mixed with high-quality durum wheat semolina creates pasta with excellent flavor and tenacity. Through an intricate extrusion process, bronze dies are used to make pasta with the ideal outward consistency to hold any sauce paired with it.

PICCANTE CON MIELE
This acacia honey is created using freezedried Italian white truffle slices with a mix of chili pepper extracts. It is an excellent accompaniment to aged and blue cheeses and can be used on salads or for glazing or marinating pork, duck, and chicken. It can also be used in your cocktails!
BURRO CON TARTUFO
This truffle butter is a tasty condiment, excellent for dressing any warm dish, such as pasta, risotto, meat, eggs, and potatoes. This butter contains 8% of truffle and should be kept out of refrigeration until opened. It boasts a creamy and rich flavor, and is gluten-free.

CHOCOLATES
Our chocolates are handcrafted with a premium selection of cocoa beans for each chocolate bar. After roasting the beans, they are refined into a fine paste. Various high-quality ingredients are then added per each specific chocolate bar recipe to obtain the proper flavor and quality of the chocolate. Once the recipe is completed, the chocolate is put through a process to remove excessive acidity and create oxygenated and balanced chocolate. Each chocolate bar is hand decorated with high-quality ingredients from Piemonte.

When Pasquale “Pat” Carlino was six years old, he immigrated to the United States from Italy with his parents and brother, seeking new opportunities and the possibility of a better life. Since childhood, Pat has loved food, especially growing up in his mother’s kitchen, which constantly had something new and mouth-watering baking or cooking. After a few years of settling and assimilating, he and his family opened a small Italian market in the suburbs of Philadelphia, which has become a well-known staple of the community.
Pat and his family’s love of food flowed to that of wine, and there is never a proper meal without the perfect wine accompaniment. In 2022, Pat decided that if he and his family could take a huge leap of faith and immigrate to a new country with two small children and not a lick of English and open an Italian market, he could follow one of his dreams and learn all there is to know about wine.
KILIM ROSSO TERRRE SICILIAN IGP
Kilim has a beautiful vivid ruby red color. It has a very rich scent full of raspberries, blueberries along with sensations of liquorice and black pepper. Full and charming flavor with hints of vanilla and spices. An extraordinary level of depth and nuance to this wine which permits it to age gracefully as well.

Grillo is an ancient native vine in Sicily which gives this wine a golden yellow color with green reflections. Mediterranean aromas, herbaceous notes, floral and fruity scents, a full and harmonious taste. It is a sunny and fascinating wine with an intense aromatic fragrance.

Spumante Lux is a Brut sparkling wine produced with the Charmat method. It has a bright straw-yellow color and a delicate and aromatic scent with hints of white-pulp fruit. The taste is round and fruity and it is dry, well-structured and persistent to the palate.
SYRAH TERRE SICILIANE IGP
Color is intense ruby red and violet, with a bouquet of asian spices and red fruits on the nose. Initial flavors of ripe red berries and chocolate are followed by wellrounded tannins and a lasting finish. Body is medium to full with great balance and complexity.
PERRICONE SICILIA DOC
A wine of ruby color, precious, by the typical scents of the area and taste reminiscent of the past. Ample in the mouth with a degree suitable alcohol to the structure and with an almond aftertaste.
NERO D’AVOLA DOC SICILIA
Color is intense ruby red and violet, with a bouquet of red fruits and vanilla on the nose. Body is medium to full with great balance that rounds out the complexity

Solcanto Nero d’Avola, produced in Alcamo, ignites musical notes that recall Sicily. Its color is an intense red ruby and it has a scent of morello cherry. It is a round, rich and well-structured wine with a persistent aftertaste to the palate.
JACARANDA TERRE SICILIANE IGP
Color is brilliant straw yellow with a bouquet of freshly cut grass, peaches and grapefruit on the nose. Initial flavors of ripe green apple and grapefruit develop into an intense, complex wine which is ever so savory, drying out wonderfully on the palate.

Color is intense purplish-red, with a bouquet of red fruits and berry jam on the nose. Initial flavors of blackberries and spice are followed by well-rounded tannins and a chocolaty finish. Body is medium-full with great balance.
CONCETTO ROSATO IGT TERRE DI CHIETI
Color is bright cherry and pink with a bouquet of fresh fruit on the nose. Initial flavors of fresh citrus and apple are followed by a noticeable salinity, and high acid. The wine dries out but retains its crispness. Very well-balanced.
CONCETTO PECORINO IGT TERRE DI CHIETI
Color is brilliant straw yellow with a bouquet of elderberry, grapefruit & yellow pulp fruit on the nose. Initial flavors of fresh citrus and stone fruit are followed by a slight salinity, and a well-balanced, lasting finish.
LUPUS TREBBIANO D’ABRUZZO DOC
Color is brilliant straw yellow with a bouquet of tropical fruit and traces of orange blossom, grapes and wild flowers on the nose. This well-balanced, slightly complex wine dries out nicely, finishing with notes of almond on the palate.
