Bonnie Speed retires

The Carlos Museum staff wish Director Bonnie Speed a happy and relaxing retirement!

In August 2021, Bonnie Speed retired as director of the Carlos Museum after 19 years of service. In recognition of the occasion, the museum’s National Leadership Board commissioned Tenzin Norbu, master painter at the Norbulingka Institute of Tibetan Arts in Dharamsala, India to create two large paintings of traditional teaching images—one of the Wheel of Life (bhāvachakra) and one of The Nine Stages of the Taming of the Mind (samata). The museum will receive the gift of the completed paintings in 2022.Z
