MEXICAN SCHOOL OF ARTS (EMA), SAN PEDRO GARZA GARCÍA, N.L. PROFS: ARCH. CÉSAR GUERRERO AND ARCH. ANA CECILIA GARZA

Proposal for a school of painting, sculpture, photography and audiovisual media, that is located in a suffocating context for being surrounded by high-rise buildings and a hill. A ramped school is proposed that descends in several half-levels passing from an upper public space to an under private use. This path besides generating a context to a more human scale, creates a complete cycle of art production and appreciation. Furthermore, by freeing the access level it is possible to create a series of public spaces and services like a community arts center and a library, which promote the integration of the school with the city.
