EXPERIMENTAL RACE CAR
2030
Chrysler Fall 2013 Sponsor
Garage 56 of Le Mans Every year at the 24 hours of Le Mans there is a reserved spot for vehicles that showcase new and innovative technology.
Circuit de la Sarthe
13.6 km Long fast corners
A high level of downforce is required to achieve better grip and higher speeds through these long corners. The disadvantage of using wings to generate downforce is the amount of drag it generates which reduces top speed
Green GT H2
Ground Effects
By increasing the speed of air under the car causes a drop in pressure, allowing the atmosphere above to press down, which allows the driver to take corners at vastly increased speeds.
A TECHNOLOGICAL TEST BED FOR FUTURE HIGH PERFORMANCE ROAD CARS The SRT brand is dedicated to the development of the best performance vehicles from current Chrysler models. This passion for speed and power has brought many legendary wins to the brand.
Upside-Down Wing Architecture
The mocoque construction of the car doubles as an energy storage resource
The rear of the car functions as a full size reversed wing which allows the air underneath to accelerate therefore generating downforce
The spokes in the wheels act as a turbine which sucks in air in order to cool the brakes and to provide faster air flowing underneath the car
ARCHITECTURE
Through revolutionary technology such as battery body panels, KERS, and a compact hydrogen powertrain, the overall package of the vehicle can be drastically reduced. This allows the body to take a much more creative role in its aerodynamic functions.
KERS FLYWH
Unlike traditio System Flywh braking energ be released e
HEEL
onal hybrid systems, a “Kinetic Energy Recovery heel” does not require a battery to store unused gy. Instead, energy is stored in a flywheel and can every lap for aditional power when needed.
GROUND EFFECTS
The rear of the car functions as a full size reversed wing which allows the air underneath to accelerate and generate a “Low Pressure” zone, therefore generating downforce.
POWERTRAIN
A hydrogen fuel-cell powertrain provides the instantaneous and high torque power of an electric motor without the worry of range anxiety, long recharging periods or complex battery swapping procedures

2025 ESPY Family Interior
2013 Interior Motives Awards Shortlist
Family interaction through
Location based Gaming
This interior is based on the idea of changing people’s attitudes towards their everyday surroundings and breathing a more playful set of behaviours into them. Location-based games induce learning that is social, experiential and situated. The social interaction and skills related to strategic decisions, observation, planning, and physical activity are the main characteristics of this strand in terms of learning.
2025 Available Technologies Over the next 15 years, there will continue to be a tremendous push to reduce energy consumption. By 2025 CAFE standards will require all vehicles to achieve at least 54.5 miles per gallon. Drive By Wire
Carbon Fiber
Augmented Reality

The Johnsons The Johnsons are a family of 5. Mom and dad are part of the gen-Y, they grew up alongside tremendous changes in technologies and it has become part of their everyday lives. Their children are even more involved with technology than their parents and it is a natural instinct for them.
Initial Concept Ideation
Center seat slides forward for attention to baby in car seat
Center console is the gaming central accompanied by supporting screens for children in the rear seat
Interior is unified by center stack
The Gameplay The games can be accessed through an app store system. This allow for a wide variaty of categories from a classic geocahing search, to engaging scavenger hunts, mystery solving expeditions, interactive tours and even multi-player modes of capture the flag and point to point races. Each family member in the vehicle has their own profile and gaming score, The Johnson’s can also have a cumulative score for when competing against other friends in social competitions Seat Design
Center Stack / Steering Wheel
Rear bench handle for the children to interact with gaming console

Multifunctional Surfaces
Z Island by Zaha Hadid
Instrument Panel Refinement
Pure, lightweight organic surfaces
Pure organic and flowing surfaces featured in Zaha Hadid’s Z-Island kitchen prove to be very functional with displays and buttons appearing only when they are needed.
Final Design Your surroundings are the game environment. Your favourite spots, your daily commute, your weekend hideouts...
Heads up display technology will allow the instrument panel to be cleared of excessive visual cluster and instead organize only the needed information in the correct places only when needed
Center stack surface is an intuitive track pad which connects the user with the heads up display information
Ergonomic track pad control is simple, intuitive, and very fast to navigate through the game. It provides the same control as a touch screen without having to dangerously reach out to interact with he game
Final Design
Flexible, thin and lightweight screens mounted on the back of the front seats allows the children in the rear to cumulatively interact with the game, guess clues, explore maps and destinations, and learn
The middle seat can slide forward in order for the child seat to be brought closer to the front row where the parents can attend the child
Roof-mounted solar panels provide the energy required to operate all of the electronic systems within the cabin, which includes the infotainment system, HVAC, and even support the Drive-By-Wire system when there is energy surplus
Roof-mounted radar display can indicate next destination location, keep score, and indicate status of the car itself, and the game
Lightweight and stronger materials such as alluminum and carbon fiber will gradually become essential in mass porduced vehicles. This will allow the interior strucure to be far less cluttered and much more spacious

Single Driver
Focused on comfortable driving 10 Hr. break time Companion/Pet/Hobby Stay connected with the world
Aircraft Interiors
Team Driver Non-stop trips (more profit) One sleeps, one drives Uncomfortable Less Space High noise Vibration Cabin Radio, etc. Not enough sleep or bad quality sleep is unhealthy and dangerous
Team Driver Couples Privacy may not be an issue Not necessarily a team Tend to get along better Less stress to “get home Potentially more profits
