CHILDREN’S BOOK SELECTION

The 2023 Children’s Carlsbad Reads Together selection is “Bright Star “ by Yuyi Morales, available in English and Spanish.

Carlsbad City Library StoryWalk: Take a walk, read a book, have an adventure Children and their families are invited to enjoy a special viewing of the beautifully illustrated Carlsbad Reads Together children’s selection “Bright Star/Lucero” by Yuyi Morales. Explore different areas of the Children’s library and follow the story using this specially created StoryWalk. StoryWalk is a movement and literacy boosting project that places an illustrated children’s book, taken apart and displayed page by page along a walking route, in this case inside the library.

The “Bright Star/Lucero” StoryWalk is available to view in the children’s section at all three library locations during the month of April.

Play Tic-Tac-Toe!

Pick up a Tic-Tac-Toe card created by library staff based on the Carlsbad Reads Together Children’s selection by Yuyi Morales from the library. Children are encouraged to look outside themselves and explore different cultures. Cut and paste the coordinating picture into the game box as you complete the tasks. Return your completed board to the Children’s area at the library for a prize.

The Carlsbad Reads Together Cut and Paste Tic-Tac-Toe game is available at all three library locations.
