Join teacher author Peter McBride BA, MEd, discuss his book “Dropping in on the Waves of Life: Tales on the Way to Becoming an Adult.” The book is about his life experiences and lessons learned from surfing and some not, told with humor and warmth. Find out why the author hopes reading this book will make a positive difference in your life and those around you.

Calling all teens entering grades 7 to12. Carlsbad’s got talent!

Showcase your amazing singing, dancing, reading of original works or other talents in front of a live audience at the annual Teen Talent Show. Members of the community of all ages are invited to watch.

The top three performers will receive rewards such as a Lego Guitar, HP Sprocket Photo printer or a Cricut Joy. If you are interested in performing, register here.

Author Event with Tracy Badua

Join us for a talk with local San Diego author Tracy Badua and hear about her career, journey with writing and learn about her books. Ms. Badua is the recipient of the 2023 Sid Fleischman Humor Award for her middle grade novel

“Freddie vs. The Family Curse,” a funny and adventurous book about a Filipino boy named Freddie who thinks he might be able to break the family curse.

Her most recent novel, “This is Not a Personal Statement,” is about a student who gets rejected from her dream college and in a panic forges her own acceptance letter. This book is available for checkout in the teen section. Feel free to submit your questions for Ms. Badua and maybe yours will get answered.
