Helvetica is a sans- serif typeface that was created in 1957 by Swiss typeface designer Max Miedinger with help from Eduard Hoffman. It is a neo-grotesuqe or realist design. It was influenced by famous 19th century German and Swiss designs. It soon became the hallmark of the International Typographic Style that came from Swiss designers in the 50’s and 60’s. Helvetica soon became one of the most popular typefaces of the 20th century.
