Leader

Hi, I’m David Hepburn. I have been the General leader of the Whitewood 4H Beef Club for eleven years. This has been a great experience for me. 4H has been very fulfilling, but if it hadn’t been for the 4H members, parents, and other leaders within the club, this would not have been the case. I’d like to thank all who have been involved. Thanks to all who have supported the 4H over the years, whether you have sponsored or purchased steers. We do not take your support for granted! Since I became a 4H leader, I have gotten married and started my own family. Our family consists of: Donna, myself, Joshua, Caleb, and a baby due August 11th. We will continue to sponsor the 4H program and cheer the kids on to great accomplishments. Personally, I am heavily involved as a pastor in Whitewood. We run a weekly children’s program and a community youth group. 3H Angus is still in business, and will be adding my brother and his family as part of this. Our goal is to take it to another level. I will still oversee the operation, but not be involved in the day-to-day workings. This definitely keeps me busy, but never too busy for a visit. I’d still be glad to stop and talk on the street, the post office, or go out to the restaurant for a visit. This is my last year as a leader with the Whitewood 4H Beef Club. Lately, I have found that I have too many irons in the fire, and to be fair to the 4Hers and to my family, it is best that someone with a fresh vision for our club takes over. I will definitely miss working with the people of this club - thanks for the memories! ~Dave

The members and their parents wish to thank Dave and Pam for their dedication and support of the Whitewood 4-H Beef Club! We appreciate the countless hours spent behind the scenes and after hours, always smiling faces and leadership!

Hello! My name is Pamela Wushke and this is my 9th year as an Assistant Leader of the Whitewood 4-H Beef Club. My husband, Mark, and I have two children, Matthew and Emily. We farm three miles west of Whitewood and raise purebred Red Angus cattle. Besides farming, I work full time as an Administrator in the R&D department at Seed Hawk; I am the administrator of a watershed group; I am a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator; I am actively involved in my church and a few other things! Some of our best friends and favourite memories have been made through 4-H - our Amazing 4-H Race, tobogganing, weiner roasts, 4-H Slip n’ Slide, the Doud water blaster, just to name a few! Each year, it gives me great joy to see how much the members change during the year - their confidence, knowledge and self esteem! 4-H is an excellent opportunity for kids to learn new skills and build on their talents...”Learn to do by Doing”! I especially enjoy finding things for the members to ‘learn’ and then quizzing them on it at the end of the year! Seriously. Just ask any of our members! ;-) ~Pam
