Values for Life

COMMUNITY ACADEMICS

REVERENCE

For more than 55 years, Carmel Catholic High School has continued a rich tradition of academic excellence. Founded in 1962, Carmel Catholic is jointly sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM) and the Order of Carmelites (O.Carm.). As a Catholic college preparatory school, we strive to provide every opportunity for our students to succeed. Corsairs join a thriving community of more than 16,000 alumni that continue to lead lives of faith and service well beyond their high school years.

MISSION

ENTHUSIASM LEADERSHIP

As a school community, Carmel Catholic has a unique identity and set of charisms because of our Catholic, Carmelite and BVM identity. We are called to integrate our unique identity and charisms into how we approach our work and develop our relationships with one another. Living, working and making choices based in these values gives expression to our unique identity and charism.

“Carmel Catholic has provided me with the building blocks to make me the person I am now. The experiences, friendships, and lessons I have learned here have truly impacted my life forever. Carmel Catholic is the family that I know I can always come back to no matter what.” Aileen Hull ‘18

Why Choose CARMEL CATHOLIC? We are a safe, close-knit community comprised of 1,200 students. Building a sense of purpose in our students is at the heart of Carmel Catholic. Our school is grounded in the life and teaching of Jesus Christ. We are one of two schools in the state and less than 10 nationwide to receive the prestigious Blue Ribbon School award by the U.S. Department of Education four times. Our students reach high levels of academic achievement. They are given every opportunity through extracurricular activities and athletic programs to excel as persons.

Investing In YOUR CHILD’S FUTURE We are committed to providing generous scholarships and tuition assistance to all qualified students. When you choose to invest in a Carmel Catholic education, you are investing in your child’s future. SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES In addition to financial aid, a number of partial scholarships are awarded, including Entrance Exam scholarships, parish-offered scholarships and minority scholarships. Some families may also be eligible for the Illinois Tax Credit Scholarship Program, which could cover up to 100 percent of tuition and eligible fees. Carmel Catholic High School abides by all applicable policies of the Archdiocese of Chicago and the IHSA. In doing so Carmel Catholic High School does not promise or offer athletic scholarships of any kind. Violations of IHSA policies may result in loss of eligibility for the student, coach and/or school. In recognition of our shared ministry, Carmel Catholic High School also does not promise, predict or otherwise allude to specific dollar amounts regarding tuition assistance or financial aid before a student takes the entrance exam. Carmel Catholic High School promotes the best attributes of our own school while respecting the legacy and traditions of other Catholic high schools.

Shadow Day To get a firsthand look at Carmel Catholic, we encourage prospective students to spend a day with us for our most popular program. During a Shadow Day, visiting students are paired with a Carmel Catholic student for the day and get to follow that student through his or her classes. We have found that visitors who participate in this unique Shadow Day experience are less apprehensive about their upcoming high school experience.

“Carmel Catholic has given me some of the best memories I’ve ever had. I feel as if just yesterday I walked into Carmel Catholic as a freshman, nervous because of how big the school seemed to me. Carmel Catholic has given me the opportunity to meet some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I appreciate all the school has given me and I can honestly say attending this school was one of the best decisions my family and I have made.” Brandon Gaytan ‘18
