To facilitate God’s vision for Carmel, we follow a process of Share, Care, Prepare, Dare and Welfare. This enables us to help believers along their individual journey of discovery and faith. The first stage of the journey is SHARE, sharing God’s love with those searching for a meaningful relationship with Him. The second stage is CARE, caring for the believer, giving them the tools to live their life successfully as children of God helping them integrate into the life of the Church and partner with the vision.
SHARE
(COVER OUR CITY)
DARE
(TOUCH THE WORLD)
WELFARE (CARMEL MINISTRIES)
CARE
(BLESS OUR NEIGHBOURS)
The third stage is PREPARE, equipping the believer to mature their faith and take the vision forward, through further study of the Word of God. The fourth stage is DARE, sending disciples into all the world with the love of Christ to pioneer and establish the Kingdom of God, taking all they’ve learned and equipping others.
PREPARE
(SEND TO THE NATION)
WELFARE concentrates on the effective management of resources and fulfils our responsibilities to all the organisations to whom we are accountable.

WELCOME Increase has brought us to 2016, an exciting year of elevation. We would not have been able to do this if we had not first increased our capacity for God by allowing Him to Transition us in His divine will and purpose. Part of the first prophecy ever given to Michelle and myself while in Bible College in 1986 said this ….
carmel: MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL
“Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would increase abundantly.” Job 8:7; So this begins another phase of the Vision to Touch the World through the training and equipping of the body of Christ. We are so pleased that you have chosen to join us on our adventure of faith. Enjoy the journey. BISHOP GERRI AND PASTOR MICHELLE DI SOMMA GENERAL OVERSEER OF CARMEL GLOBAL
2015 was a great year for us as a Church, the previous years vision of TRANSITION was practically lived out by us all as we experienced the INCREASE of God in our lives, both as individuals and as a Church. However all of the INCREASE God wrought in our lives was with a greater purpose in mind. As we look forward to this year, a year of elevation we are excited by the prospect of Carmel being lifted higher in Christ. As God increased our capacity last year He did so with a view to calling us higher up the Mountain so to speak. We went ‘wide’ last year so as to go ‘high’ this year. 2016 will be a year in which God continues to bring transition as He increases Himself in our midst as we as a Church are lifted higher into His glorious presence. Such is the plan God as for His Children. “Until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.” Eph 4:13 (NASB)
PASTOR SEAN AND MICHELLE LEASK CEO OF CARMEL CITY CHURCH BRISTOL
ENJOYING THE JOURNEY SINCE 1996 CARMEL MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL HAS SEEN A STEADY GROWTH AND INFLUENCE IN BRISTOL, THE UK AND BEYOND UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF ITS FOUNDERS AND GENERAL OVERSEER, BISHOP GERRI AND PASTOR MICHELLE DI SOMMA, WHO CONTINUE TO CAST VISION FOR THE MINISTRY GLOBALLY.
Pastor Sean and Michelle Leask were appointed as CEO of the local operations of the ministry in Bristol in 2015, this has allowed Bishop Gerri and Pastor Michelle Di Somma to explore other opportunities to expand the vision globally. The concept of one Church, many locations is the Blueprint of the Mission, Strategy and Process that the vision follows. Following this blueprint has seen the work prosper.
The vision is facilitated by the process of Share, Care, Prepare and Dare. We see this as the circle of life. Undergirding everything we do is the Welfare part of the process, where CMI meets the governmental requirements. All of these are explained further in this booklet. VALUES:
MISSION: In line with the Word of God and God’s purposes in the world today, CMI’s mission statement is clear and concise: He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. Luke 9:2. VISION: Vision is a practical and purposeful necessity for believers in today’s world. We see that vision comes from God and with this He gives a strategy for its fulfilment. CMI’s vision is rooted in four basic instructions which align with our Lord’s word to Paul. OUR VISION STRATEGY: • COVER OUR CITY • BLESS OUR NEIGHBOURS • SEND TO THE NATION • TOUCH THE WORLD
At Carmel City Church, we value LIFE – Living in Faith and Fellowship Experientially. We recognise that life should not be experienced alone, but should include others. This means building lasting friendships with like-minded people who mutually support each other for the journey. Our varied and interesting Life Groups facilitate such friendships. These groups meet around common goals and interests, building relationships based on faith in Christ. In the middle of this booklet is a Life File. Please complete it and hand it to an usher or in at reception so we can help serve you better as you get further involved. Enjoy the Journey!
OUR STRUCTURE Carmel Ministries International is a UK charity whereby all these organisations function with Carmel Global overseeing this. They each enable us to fulfil our mission and vision.

ELEVATE STRATEGY
PST GERRI DI SOMMA
Romans 1:16-17 WE THE CHURCH, ARE TO ELEVATE WHAT WE BELIEVE SO THAT WE CAN BE A LIGHT IN THIS DARKNESS, WE ARE THE ONLY REVELATION OF CHRIST ON THE EARTH THAT THE WORLD WILL KNOW. WE NEED TO ELEVATE THE PRESENCE AND VOICE OF GOD WITHIN OUR SOCIETY. WE MUST BE BOLDER IN OUR APPROACH, STAND UP AND DECLARE THE GOSPEL TO BRING THIS NATION BACK TO WHAT IT WAS. Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world”. Light in the Bible talks of moral excellence, the moral excellence of Jesus enables us to function in society to draw attention to the Father and Saviour. Daniel was described of living a life of excellence, he first won the battle of his will in the presence of God before he was challenged publically. Daniel had an excellent spirit full of the wisdom and power of God. He made a decision not to become contaminated by his surroundings. Challenges will come to extinguish your life and you need to distinguish your life by the presence of God. 1. Elevate the presence of God in your life Take it to the next level. Lift Him higher. When Daniel elevated his worship and the presence of God in his life when it was forbidden. Make a commitment, reach out to God, utilise your time and with your family to elevate God’s presence. Do not be fearful, if you lift Him up and take care of His business He will take care of yours. Start each day with the presence of God, Isaiah 40:31 be elevated with the power to endure. 2. Elevate the Principles of God in your life There should be a continual study of the Word of God. Have a working knowledge of the laws of God. People are feasting on the delicacies of the world and are morally starving to death because they don’t know the moral Word of God. Let the Word of God feed you. The world has questions and Word has the answers, you need to know them. 3. Elevate the purpose of God in your life Our purpose is to glorify God the Father as Jesus did. We need to reconcile people to the Father through the Son. People need to be delivered from their problems and not taught how to live with them, the Word of God will deliver them. 4. Elevate the potential of God Your potential can only be realised in your service to God. Be faithful in the house of God and watch what God will do in your house. If you see something that needs changing them come and help, if you have ideas then come and talk. The only way to change the world is to elevate the presence of God, elevate the principles of God, elevate the purpose of God and elevate the potential of God in our lives. If we show ourselves faithful to what belongs to another, God will give us our inheritance. This is the season where we need to elevate our game, people’s lives are dependent on it. Let us together put together life groups to cover our city and be the light of God, we have a responsibility. Encourage each one another to go the distance and grow in the things of God. Be excited for 2016
IN 2015 OUR MANDATED VISION FOR THE YEAR WAS INCREASE. THROUGH OBEDIENCE TO GOD WE SAW INCREASE IN A NUMBER OF WAYS. GOD HAS POSITIONED US THROUGH THE HIS VISION FOR CARMEL TO FULLY EXPLOIT THE JOURNEY OF TRANSITION HE IS TAKING US THROUGH. IT REQUIRED OF US TO ALLOW THE HOLY SPIRIT TO INCREASE US, AND OUR CAPACITY FOR GROWTH AT MANY LEVELS. AS WE EMBRACED GOD’S WILL FOR CARMEL AND EMPLOYED OUR GIFTS IN HIS DIVINE PURPOSES WE SAW GOD’S WORD COME TO PASS IN OUR LIVES AND OUR CHURCH. In 2016 our mandated vision is ELEVATE. This would not be possible if we had not allowed Him to increase our capacity for God and His kingdom as He did in 2015. For us this has been an exciting year as brings us closer to the maturing of the vision. 2015 was a year of increase, as God expanded our capacity He was preparing us for where He would lead us in 2016, ELEVATE. We as a Church had to grow our capacity before God build a new level into the Church; this new level is what will ELEVATE us. As we allow the past years vision to continue to function in our lives and Church community, we will automatically find ourselves drawn up the “mountain of God” When we look at what Scripture tells us in regard to this years vision ELEVATE we find Isaiah prophesying the following ‘Get yourself up on a high mountain, O Zion, bearer of good news, Lift up your voice mightily, O Jerusalem, bearer of good news; Lift it up, do not fear. Say to the cities of Judah, “Here is your God!” ‘Isaiah 40:9 Through this scripture we find the essence of the journey God wants to lead us on in 2016. We are instructed to get ourselves up
on a high mountain and to lift up our voices mightily. Clearly we see God’s mandate to ELEVATE ourselves in Him as a Church, to be seen, followed by a clear injunction to let our confession and testimony ring clearly in our community. This is the challenge the faces us as a Church and as believers individually. As maturity of the vision rapidly approaches we are to rise up as fully developed men and women of Almighty God and be the Church in our community. The word ELEVATE in our context means “to move or raise to a higher place or position; lift up and to raise to a higher spiritual level: ” With the manifestation of our expansion into the global arm of our God given vision we are faced with a challenge from God to lift up our lives to a higher position in Him. To allow our testimony to ring forth with boldness as Christ establishes His Kingdom in our community. To achieve this there are certain areas we will need to approach with intentionality and singleness of purpose this year. These areas are God given and thus necessary for us as a Church as we mature in the vision God has for us. Firstly I believe we are being challenged to ELEVATE - Christ In our lives. We need to, as individuals and as a Church, ensure that we continue to place Christ at the core of all we do this year. Let all our efforts flow from a heart so filled with the love of God and endured with love for Him that all of our works carry the sweet aroma of His grace in our lives. Let this be a challenge for all of us this year, to lift our lives again in offering to our Lord for Hid will and good pleasure. I also believe that we are being challenged by God to ELEVATE – Our purpose. To correctly understand this we need to look with fresh eyes and renewed vigour on the great mandates of Matthew to go and make disciples of all nations…
Teaching them. (Matt 28:18-19) and of Mark to go and preach the Gospel to all creation (Mark 16:15). It is time once again for us as the Church of the Lord to lift high the Gospel of Power, ensuring that all who call on His mighty name are correctly connected to Him through His Holy Word and Spirit. Another area I believe God is challenging us in is to ELEVATE – Our prosperity. God wants to bring His Church into a place of great abundance. He wants to bless His people therefore we are being asked to elevate our giving to the standard of His Word. It also follows that we are to be excellent stewards of prosperity as God provides for His visions out working through His favour on His children’s finances. From this follows the next challenge from God to us a Church in 2016 to ELEVATE – our service. God places us all in a community of believers, a Church, where we are grounded and planted. It is in this place that we are nurtured, cared for and matured. As we continue to transition and increase God is calling those of us already “in the house” so to speak, to make ready for the new people who are coming. As members of the family of Carmel all of us have a valuable and God given contribution to make to vision God established Carmel with. Lastly but most certainly not least, God is challenging us to ELEVATE – Our relationships. By this I mean that as we reach out into our community with the power of His Gospel, people will begin to come in increasing numbers to Church. God’s Word is clear on how we are to embrace and love the Body of Christ. God first, then our neighbour followed by ourselves, all joined together in one glorious body called the Church. Let each on of us play our part in joint and fitting together Christ’s body.

From the car park to the Coffee Bean coffee shop, facilities must be clearly mapped out for visitors and friends of Carmel, so as to make their time with us a wonderful experience as they encounter the presence of God. Connecting with friends, family and visitors must be our highest priority to make their journey of faith an enjoyable and meaningful one.
Every time the Church gathers together it is an event: to present people with an opportunity to encounter God as Father. From inspired worship to the preaching of the Word, everything must be meticulously planned with the intentional goal of allowing the Holy Spirit to touch the hearts of the people. Without a meaningful encounter with God there cannot be purposeful change brought in lifestyle.

Preparing this present generation of young people to be the leaders in tomorrow’s church and nation through related and relevant gatherings and activities.
One church with many locations across the city where people can readily receive and participate in the events planned to have an encounter with God. The strategy God gave us was to ‘Cover our City’, and we do this through the active participation of partners in the different locations.
Training them to boldly take hold of their future through the biblical principles contained in the Word of God, being doers of the Word and not hearers only.
CHILDREN’S CHURCH Helping our children to have their own spiritual encounter with God so as to live successfully for Christ. Teaching children about their heavenly Father and helping them to discover the gifts that God has placed in them to become world changers. Supporting and undergirding parents in the responsibility to bring up their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

FAMILY LIFE GROUPS
Meeting the needs of the Body of Christ is as important as seeing the vision accomplished. Without the partners, the vision is only a dream. Taking care of the partners at Carmel involves spirit, soul and body that encompasses our social, economical and relational responsibilities.
Family LIFE Groups centre around the nucleus of the family unit. Families gather at convenient times in homes around the city to discuss the Word of God and fellowship together. Family Life Groups will have an outward focus of evangelism and outreach.
LIFE GROUPS
RECREATION
Doing life together through social activities helps the believer find their place in the purpose of God.
Family fun time together is important in any family, for both purpose and play, helping each other develop the social skills to do life. Activities that contribute to this are movie nights, agape meals, concerts, picnics and many similar activities that involve the whole church family.
Mentoring for all ages and genders, which is the maturing arm of the church, extending from study of the Word to the more social and activity base of relationships found in interest groups.
HUMANITARIAN Providing a place where there is material provision for those who really need such support, through The Storehouse and the Good Samaritan Fund. Helping the partners take control of the resources God has given them to properly manage their lives and live debt free to empower them to become contributors towards the needs of others.

Providing further education in a variety of subjects. Reaching out to the wider community through education, whether knowledge based or of a more practical type, serving the community, commending the love of God.
Growing a network of churches in the UK and overseas that relate together under the spiritual covering and oversight of CMI, fulfilling the apostolic call of ‘Touching the World,’ resulting in a common bond and a courageous voice in today’s world.
CARMEL BIBLE COLLEGE Meeting the ongoing demand for books, CDs and DVDs, which in turn promote the growth of the believer, especially in the practical application of their beliefs both in church and in the community that they live. Providing courses of instruction based on God’s Word that prepare students for service and ministry, developing godly character in an environment that enables the life changing power of God to do its work in each student. The first year course is to establish the foundations of life, and second year to better function in service to the Body of Christ. The third year program is for those who believe they are called into full-time ministry.
CARMEL CHRISTIAN SCHOOL Following the ‘Accelerated Christian Education’ system of education, which centres on the Word of God, a child is equipped for life in every area of their development. By providing individual instruction and group activities through the
Christ-centred programs of the Christian School, children are prepared for the responsibilities ahead of them, educating them for now and into eternity.
PRACTICAL MINISTRIES Training the believer in short-term courses through the ‘In Christ’ programmes. These provide foundational doctrine and understanding of the church and its function. They further teach Christians to flow in the anointing through prayer helping, counselling, healing and other practical ministry opportunities.
