T H E META B OL I C C I T Y : he who m r e s p o n d s to cha n g e Five different locations along Third Street has been selected as an expression of the adaptability of the physical framework created in architectural manner and how these different sites have the ability to grow through time. As the concept 'from farm to table' is integrated with this scheme, an interweaving expression of food as a medium of catalyst is expressed through the entire Third Street with an undulating urban landscape to reflect on an urban scale playscape driven by food to allow the community to interpret the function of the street in a different, fresh perspective. For the purpose of this project, Site 04 has been chosen as it is the main node of the entire scheme. Site 04 is a co-working space to encourage the community in starting up their own business. With a pop up avenue at the

ground floor as part of introducting a formal gathering space for the community, the community will have an avenue to organise events of different scale- whether as just within the vicinity of the building, or extended to the entire street. This gives an opportunity for the community to be more creative and bold in utilising spaces within the entire Third Street from a micro or macro scale. Through food, this scheme aims to use food as a catalyst or educational medium to regenerate a community, targeting to help the social and economical aspects of the community. Ultimately, this community will be able to transform into an avenue of expression where the communtiy is able to express its ability to grow and be a part of the bigger community of Bay Area.
