FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE BCIT journalism students team up with Tiny Light Foundation to take free family photos of sick kids BURNABY, B.C. – The BCIT Broadcast Journalism program is making a difference in the lives of sick kids, hosting The Picture Project this Saturday. Six children and their families will be treated to free family photos and a day of fun at Science World, giving them a break from the stresses of daily life. Seven-year-old Connor, is battling to overcome a brain tumour. It’s been tough on him and his family. His mother Alix says the Tiny Light Foundation has meant the world to the family as they work through Connor’s health issues. “It's been incredible,” she says. “We never knew a picture could capture such warmth, it was so unexpected, because we're going through such a crisis with our son. You feel exposed at first, but it becomes such an intimate relationship. It's been so important to our family.” In addition to taking the photos, BCIT Journalism students are also organizing a small gift basket from Fun and Games Toy Store for each child, and lunch at Science World courtesy White Spot.
