You must agree first. - you must consent without ultimatums or threats being put to you. - you will be discharged within 72 hours unless status is changed to involuntary. Involuntary: POLICE say you act in a way likely to endanger yourself and/or another's safety. A JUDGE believes you are a mentally disordered person ..and/or dangerous to be at large ..and/or that usual procedure causes a dangerous wait; A DOCTOR determines you are mentally disordered ..require treatment (care, control, supervision) ..for your own or others' safety. * 2 doctors have to fill out forms * You can appeal admission on 1st day. * Admission as an involuntary patient can be good for 30 days. * Unless a doctor reports that you should (have to) stay in hospital, you must be let go after 30 days. * If a doctor reports that you have to stay it can be for 90 days.
