This edition on design and architecture in the BBeyond series features vastly different projects, from residential, to commercial, to the quirky, to the outright arty, with creativity and originality underpinning all of them. Increasingly, homes, commercial spaces and buildings in general are expected to be “smart”, automated, and optimized for incorporating high spec technologies; similarly, retail customers expect their shopping expedition to be an experience, as opposed to a simple errand. We asked participants to comment on how their industry is addressing the above.
As ever, projects are not organised in order of significance but logistically: we always start and end on a high note so the last profile is typically one of the editors’ favourite. We trust the reader will be as inspired as we have been in the process of putting together this edition.
