Deck the halls and tour the Glessner House in Chicago, a National Historic Landmark! This 17,000 square foot home was designed in the so-called Gilded Age, when America’s newly rich industrialists were living in modern day castles. The industry shattering design of the house created an integrated environment that is both medieval and modern. Learn the history of the family and the house in our docentguided tour of the home, decorated for the holidays. After our tour of the Glessner House, we head over to the 2nd Presbyterian Church for a tour of the Tiffany stained glass. Lunch is on your own at a local establishment.

Our first stop takes us to the Ansel B Cook home, built in 1878 Upon the passing of the owners, the house was given to the city of Libertyville to use as a park and library and is currently the home of the Libertyville Historical Society The Museum Room showcases unique items from Libertyville’s history Before our next tour, we will stop for lunch on your own at a local establishment After lunch, we tour the Shiloh House in Zion, a 25-room mansion rich in unique features
